Hi everyone,
I have the feeling that those of us who are going to take our nclex in July should start to share our
ideas and views and at the same time encourage each other in any way we can.I
strongly believe that the earlier the better, and together we can make it in Jesus NAME.
STUDY,STUDY,STUDY. PRAY,PRAY,PRAY. We will be successful. For me I have been
changing my date because I am doing Kaplan online, LA Charity,Exam cram and
using Saunders as my ref. book. It's your turn to share your ideas. Thanks and
Welcome to this study group.
Hello Everyone!
I am hoping to test in July, I begin working the end of this month so I have been studying everyday except the weekends. I am using Saunders, La Charity, and I took Kaplan right after graduation. I am going to begin answering 100q a day, currently I am averaging 75. I am re-reading Infection Control topics and lab values. Does anyone have any tips to learn the developmental stages, it seems like children change drastically month to month. I am having a lot of difficulty with this area which is odd considering I am a mother :) Another concern I have is that I have not received the go ahead from my state boards to test, I did my application and fingerprinting in april. Is there a step I am missing, I was under the impression after my school submits my paperwork then they would notify me to test. Best of Luck to everyone, you all will be in my prayers :)
Hey, everyone! I feel like the "old lady" of the group. I am testing on July 16th and am scared to death. I was an RN (graduated 1982) and let my license expire to raise my kids. I did a refresher course for Med-Surg and am presently trying to go through the NCSBN's learning extension review, along with Saunders, and LaClarity. Got my ATT a little sooner than I expected. They said 4 wks for Michigan and I got it in 10 days by email. Things have changed a lot. My 1st boards were with a pencil, LOL. CAT should be fun! Praying lots and lots, too! It's all up to HIM!:)
Hey everyone,
I am not taking the nclex in July, but will be taking it June 18th...Just around the corner! I couldent afford Kaplan or Hurst so I am doing an online review with reviews for nurses which is an exellent review and is helping a lot. I also got 2000 nclex questions which was included in the package. I have been doing practice questions and
reviewing meds for the past 3 weeks. The questions are very hard with tons of SATA! Good luck to everyone!
I took HURST review and just got my ATT in the mail. Nothing from Pearson yet and I still can't schedule an exam date! I'm hoping for the first week of July. :)
Went to pearsonvue and they say they are down for maintenence so I guess I am in limbo until Monday.
Oh another thing. I just BROKE my ankle so I am down for the count! This will give me plenty of time to study eh? LOL!
Good luck to everyone!
Hi everyone. Hope that everyone's studying is going well.
I am starting to get nervous because so many people are saying that the NCLEX questions are like Kaplan.......and I honestly can not afford Kaplan. I am just studying Saunders and doing questions from the Saunders Q/A book CD. I am also using LaCharity. I hope that these sources are enough to pass. I am thinking of buying the Kaplan book as well.....they have it on amazon.com for about 23 dollars.

ikedinachi1, I think the real trick to the SATA questions is simply to know the content. There really isn't a trick that I can see. I have missed almost all of the SATA that I have tried, but to be honest, I was missing the content every single time. For instance, if I got one about side effects of a med, and I knew three out of the four they wanted, I missed it, but got no credit for knowing the three. There's no strategy for that, except know the stuff... I know, great news, eh? But, perhaps, to not be intimidated by them would help us a lot!
Today I took the Kaplan readiness test, and scored a 69%, which, according to Kaplan, is within the desirable range. I sure would feel better about seeing a percentage if it didn't start with a 6!
I am continuing to do 100-200 questions a day, and starting a new position on a neuro/peds unit next week! Not sure how I will fit it all in then, but still going to shoot for 4000 questions by July 7th...
Hang in there NCLEXers, we can do it!!!!
