  1. Jobs are slim to none in Ohio in general. I just moved out of Ohio to the DC area after 5 years of living and going to school there. Graduated in May, just got a job as new grad RN in DC.
  2. Well, never posted in the July study group but I'm just coming back from taking Nclex. I had 75 questions. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Got a lot of priority questions towards the end. My last 8-10 questions were priorities (had also more throughout the exam). Got 2 med maths, a few SATA and some meds maybe like 5-8 of them, most of which I didnt know.
  3. Had my interview yesterday. It went well I thought. The clinical questions werent too bad, i hesitated on some of them, my mind hasnt worked as well clinical wise since i got done with nursing school LOL. Hope to hear something next. Thanks for the tips and kind words!
  4. Thank you stef22, u will be fine!
  5. Yeah I received mine over 2 weeks ago. Like maybe 4 or 5 days after the email inviting me for an interview. It will come before tuesday hopefully. Mine is the 23rd as well, 10 am. Plus If they offered you to come for interview that late it means they somehow want/need you. Don't worry. Stay positive and report the good news!!!
  6. NStudentinMaryland Thank you very much for your detailed answer. You are such an angel! Thank you very much for the positive thoughts, I'm hoping things will be smooth and get the job coz I really need it. Will let you know how it goes. Not sure what floor to pick, I mean I want medsurg, seems easier but my heart says critical care or stepdown, and I am just being a chicken. I also wanna pick a floor where they might have more openings. We'll see... Thank you much!
  7. NStudentinMaryland, Congrats on the job!! I have my interview on the 23rd, wed next week and I'm a bit nervous as I dont really know what to expect. How was your particular interview as far as the atmosphere? Was it pretty relaxed or were they obviously "screening" you? Did you already sit for ur nclex? Did they ask for ur att? Another question, I was planning on taking the metro but I just moved to the area and although I have looked at the routes and the schedules I feel more comfortable driving that day, is parking crazy? I know you have to plan $12 for parking coz thats the max they charge per day. By the way i'll be coming from the gaithersburg/montgomery village area.
  8. Hello fellow GN, I was wondering, for the ones who already had their interviews, did u have to bring your ATT for the ones who havent sitten the nclex yet. Have you already scheduled it? Also do you have to bring your CPR card?
  9. thank you for the details karaokerfrog, how were the clinical questions? were they pretty deep, kinda nclex like or were there more common sense type of questions? How did you prepare for the interview and how do you think you did? Have u gotten any feedback from them or offer? Sorry for all the questions, just tryin to have an idea about how it all works. They seem pretty secretive about the whole thing so...
  10. Ok. I was just worried, if get offered a position, the times its gonna take to endorse my license over to DC since it has to be done before the 19th.
  11. I also have an interview the same day as you, the 23rd at 10am, true auditorium i guess is where everything is happening. I dont have any other details either. Not sure about hotels, I just moved here myself. I guess I'll see you there on June 23rd!!!
  12. fuuchan, Good luck on ur interview. Never worked there so cant help out with questions for the interview but please share your experience after the interview... i'll be anxious to hear it! Good luck, I'm sure you'll do wonderful and you'll get the job!! Be prepared, relaxed and confident! PS: by the way do you have a DC license already? Are u a new grad?
  13. Same question. If anybody could share how is it working there as a RN, and esp. details abt the new grad program that would be really appreciated. They have fired a lot of nurses lately for med errors that affected about 25 patients, so I have been told by a friend who works there (not as a nurse though). Not sure how that affects hiring interviews, orientation and all that. Anybody started in their february new grad program? Anybody working there currently willing to share?
  14. Same here. I got an email with about 6 dates to choose from throughout the month of June. I was supposed to receive an email with more info about the actual interview itself once i RSVP'd to the invite for the interview. I havent gotten anything back yet. Maybe coz of the long weekend. Still waiting. Are you guys all licensed already and out of state? Have you guys started working on getting a DC license? (I'm from Ohio and havent taken nclex yet, still waiting for my att from the ohio bon, hopefully that wont be an issue in case the interview goes well with whc).
  15. Oh man! and I thought I had it bad... hang in there guys, it'll be all worth it in the end, or at least I hope so... the commuter, NS2Sbowman, Rylee2008, we'll all make it....:)
