Apparently Jahi is doing great after two years of brain death - photos prove it? I thought this was over with!

I guess she has enough brain to keep her in a vegetative state. This is a first world tragedy, so sad, yet so first world. I'm sorry for everyone, she looks beautiful in the photo.I would have a hard, hard time if this was my daughter. :(

And this thread just sent me on an hour long Google search for updates on her status. I do follow this.

I will say that, as I've gained additional knowledge through my RN program, some of my thoughts/beliefs have changed, r/t this little girl.

This fact also reminds me that we see her case through Nurse eyes, even though many of us are also parents.

Being nurses makes us unique d/t our knowledge base.

Not according to six physicians who did comprehensive testing on her. Vegetative state is NOT brain death. She even had a cerebral blood flow test which showed NO blood flow whatsoever to her brain. That result is not consistent with vegetative state or coma.

I wish the family would allow the brain death tests to be re-administered by independent certified EXPERTS, not handpicked anti brain death demagogues and be done with this once and for all.

I foolishly looked at the picture. Photoshopped to begin with- and poorly at that. A standard issue hospital type baby blanket covering her trach and the vent tubing. But clearly an LTV ventilator in the background with a rate dialed in. I wish I could have seen the numbers on the faceplate. Also- it APPEARS that her lower lip has been pierced and has a stud in it.

This is so incredibly awful.
