a friend of mine who is already in the ADN program gave me a copy of her reading schedule that outlines what will be covered each week and the readings that will be required. No assignments are listed only a reading schedule and the topics covered. Is this academic dishonesty since I will be getting a head start on the readings that are required?

I don't think so. I wish I had something to go by. I just opened all my books and started reading. I have no idea what the reading assignments are going to be, but I wanted to get a head start.
She just made a REALLY big deal out of not telling anyone that I had it after she emailed it to me. And since not all of the students have access to it I wasn't sure. I was just sort of confused about why she was freaking out about me saying somethign

I dont see how that would be anywhere close to cheating. Thats like saying someone gave you a dictionary before a spelling bee and you were disqualified for cheating.

No way. The only downside is that the reading will put you to sleep since you can't put a lot of it to use right now.

No different than if you didn't have the list and just started reading the book.

Usually if you have to ask "is it dishonest" it probably is.
Thanks for blowing that theory for me. I've never seen a case where this question has been posed and it wasn't dishonest. Until now.

I had a student report me for cheating before. A girl in a class behind me had asked me on myfacebook how peds was. She was just starting it. I said it was like a mini med surg but more emphasis on child developmental age while giving care. So I told her to make sure she understands the developmental stages. This was same info we were told day one for the class and what was on school website. Yet somehow I was reported by some shady girl in my class that I was openly helping students cheat. Well I fought it, I wasn't going to go down for that since I didn't do anything wrong.

Are you serious!? Man- some people need to get a life. I'm an advocate for "Do your own work", but that's a little ridiculous.
To the OP- I do NOT see this as dishonest in any way.
