As if Monday wasn't bad enough...
I made a parent come in and sign a med form after they sent cough syrup and nasal inhaler with their kid and just "called to let me know".
AND
I wouldn't pull out the loose tooth of a kindergartner.

I always crack up when the students come in with a wiggly tooth and expect me to pull it. For good measure, once i did ask my superintendent if he'd pay for me to go to dental school while he was in my office for such a request. He laughed his way out of my office. Guess that was a no.

I'm very popular today. Kids coming in for everything from cooking with a fever to kvetching about the Science teacher.
And the stomach virus!!!

As the year progresses, I feel like most of the teacher's hate me !! I'm quite tired of them looking at me like I have horns when I don't perform as they feel I should. So sorry....not sorry ! My job is to keep butts in the seats people !! Ahh Educators !

You read my mind... see my horns?
I almost feel that being liked by staff and being a good school nurse are mutually exclusive!!

Ugh!
Had a kiddo vomit as soon as he got here, you could hear him snottin' half way down the hall, go eat something to dry up all of that mucus that has drained into your stomach.
Teacher wasn't happy I sent him back, either was the kid, "I think I should go home." Nope.
Teacher sends kid back up a couple of hours later because he threw up again. THIS IS FROM CONGESTION!! I wasn't going to call home but teacher gave me the stink eye. So I did. Mom agrees with me that it is from the congestion, and coughing makes him throw up.
Teacher wouldn't accept that. So I had to send him home, and he's missed so much from the "one and done" pukes.
After he found out he was going home he started playing in my office until I threatened to call mom back and make him stay.
Sometimes I wonder if these teachers realize that I have a degree in assessing people? C'mon now! (Oops, wrong thread)

It drives me crazy when teachers send the kids for loose teeth. It's loose, nothing I can (or will) do about it! Geeze!

What? You're not a RN/Dentist? Some of my residents think I'm a doctor...
