I'm not popular today

As if Monday wasn't bad enough...

I made a parent come in and sign a med form after they sent cough syrup and nasal inhaler with their kid and just "called to let me know".

AND

I wouldn't pull out the loose tooth of a kindergartner.

:banghead:

My co workers don't realize that there wasn't a specific learning module in my school nursing classes that involved learning how to fix glasses. I am not good at it. I don't have patience for it. I'll try 3 times with that tiny screw and if i can't get it i send it home. the kids can wear them with one arm / leg whatever if they need them to see the board for the day.

I'd go buy one of those precision screw drivers kit... And give it to the teacher. I call this enabling (I'm big on enabling people - makes 'hem feel all warm and fuzzy inside.) And if said teacher looks at you funny and says something along the lines of "But I don't know how to do that," you can always reply "me neither."

My 2 cents...

To those of you who have counselors, do they receive these types of requests, or is it only the nurse? The real core of these types of chores is the belief that of all the places in the school, the nurse's office is the least busy. In my instance, other than recess and Wednesdays, that is accurate, but I have a fraction of the numbers most here deal with.

The guidance counselor used to have the clothes, but then I got them because all the girls were getting sent to me when they had "girl issues." And, I get everything now, the guidance counselor and the school's therapist don't get sent any strange requests.

I refuse to fix glasses. I am not opening up that door! I have 916 kids, no way.

Had a student come in where the sole of his shoe had separated from the upper.

Ummmm...Hold on, let me get my cobbler's bench out. :wacky:

I love that you said "cobbler" I said that the other day and I got a blank stare. So, finally I said, "you know that little shop where the old man yells at you but fixes your shoes??"

Oh yea, THAT cobbler! *facepalm*
