I don't know if I am just hard hearted after so many years of nursing, or if I have just seen too many malingerers, or just too many people who blame their problems on anything and everyone but themselves. But if I answered half the posts on here with what I really feel, I think I would be thrown off.
wow, sounds like bitter burn-out central over here.this is an internet forum. people come here to vent. even when they are "asking for advice", they're really just looking to blow off steam 99% of the time.
"suck it up" and "what were you thinking?" type answers are even less constructive than being nice. give me a break.
You just did what you were trying to condemn.

This is an internet forum, yes it is! In other news, wabc is a radio station and CNN is cable tv! What is unique about the internet that gives a special obligation to accept communication we would not normally accept if another vehicle were carrying it?
The reason a thread title exists is to solicit appropriate feedback from the members. Members who don't like it very much when they spend 20 minutes or more writing thoughtful replies only to find out someone already has decided their opinion and/or give a "hoot" about your reply. You may even get called a mean old unsupportive grouch for your troubles. I value my time. I try to value other people's time, too.
If there were no hidden agendas going on why would we need to worry about what 99% are motivated by? It would be refreshing to see some real honest titles, though.

The title of this thread is....."If I said on here what I really wanted to say" giving the permission to say what my mind's eye and sometimes what I actually think. Even as a manager I would watch a nurse leave my office after I had listened and counseled her and thought...."Are you kidding me? you don't like the way she chews gum?" (it was a real complaint)
Sometimes people need to hear...."grow up!" I had a no whine policy....if you wanted to whine you put it in the whine box. Sometimes "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" Stems from someone posting they were fired because they posted/took a picture of a patient and they thought it was ok because it didn't show their face. AND they are mad and think they are being picked on when it was the third warning!! I am extremely careful to be positive and constructive when I answer posts and go to great lengths to post links so the reader may learn and grow as a professional.
You are right this is an Internet forum so if you post, you must expect answers and not necessarily the one's you want to hear. Peace.
You just did what you were trying to condemn.
not really though.
all i'm saying is being mean/snarky in responses comes off as bitter. people don't come here for genuine advice. they come here for a quick answer (which most of the time they already know) or a little support.
anyway whatever, go ahead and be mean and condescending to posters if it makes you feel like you really "helped" them.

And yet another one.................note the "to be" designation.....
