I had a parent tell me, "I only by Motrin. I don't do generic."

My husband insists that generic IBU does not work at all and the only thing that works is "Motrin"-he's a nurse- I've been refilling that same Motrin bottle for 4 years now with IBU from Sam's Club, guess who hasn't noticed the difference...
At least they admit that it's the same thing, if only generic. This kid would not believe me that Motrin and Ibuprofen were the same thing!

I had this last week... a mom called me telling me if I can't give her child Motrin or Tylenol and I told her, "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to give ibuprofen or acetaminophen to students. I can only give it if a medical administrating form was signed by you and a physician." "But I don't want you to give them that, I said if you can give them Mortrin or Tylenol, not other drugs! I do not want my child to be drugged up!"
I'm trying not to laugh or giggle on the phone when she said this. "Ma'am, those names I said are Tylenol and Motrin, they are just the generic names they usually have." I heard silence for a while and she said, "Well you could've just said that instead of them fancy names." I apologized and then we kept having the conversation as if this exchange never happened.

Also blows peoples minds that Motrin and Advil are the same thing.
"Do you have any Motrin?"
"No but I have Advil."
"Oh, no thanks, Advil is the only thing that works for me."

I'll take any of the generics, but must admit I prefer the liqui-gels. It may be in my head, but it feels like they work faster.
