I am SO Ticked off right now!

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

There are very few nurses in my facility with BSN's. Two, to be precise. One is wonderful and supportive, the other doesn't like distance learning and used to give ma a hard time about Excelsior. A little older than me, ADN grad, got her BSN years ago, brick and mortar.

I tell her I've enrolled in the RN-MSN and she says, "Yeah." Eyeroll. When I got offended, it isn't me, I just shouldn't be allowed to do this. Where's the standard entry? SHE had to yada yada yada. I said, "Fine. I won't talk about it." "No, talk about it. It isn't personal, it's the whole process." "Well, it is personal. It affects me."

Brat.

Thanks, all.

I think she's regretting her comments today. She's been super nice to me. I think - doh! - she realizes that she hurt my feelings.

She can bite me, anyway. If she doesn't understand that I enjoy learning for its own sake - meh.

:)

She just apologized.

I brought copies of my RN license in today, for HR and my boss. She was SO tickled, and is thrilled I'm going on in school. I love working for a smart person!

Jealous old bitty. Why can't people just be happy for someone? I agree, she must have though it through and realized you're possibly gonna be boss someday. You go Sue and show her what an awesome job us distance learners can do. :yeah:

Its times like that I miss being an in the field paramedic. When another paramedic gives you flack like that you can just look 'em in the eye and say, "You're a di*#"

Would love to see how that would fly in the hospital "professional" setting.
