The only reason you got laid off is so you could take a small break before you start that new job that you are going to get! See how nicely I put that in perspective?

Actually, I'm okay. COBRA is 65% covered under the stimulus for 9 months, unemployment has me at the max rate + a $25 stipend, it's been extended, and I kind of knew things were not good.
I will hear on the interview Monday or Tuesday. I'm almost hoping I don't get it.

OMG Sue! Would have been nice if you had started the new job, then found out later that they downsized your old job. But, sigh, oh well. This might be a blessing: The old job being gone, won't be a distraction, and, you're way ahead of others who weren't as smart as you and planning for this day months ago!

Wow, I can't believe it happened to you. I read your post all the time and I didn't think it would happen to you. Sorry, surely the skills you have are transferable?
