Something happened to me at Wednesday that i thought i would never hear.
I was told by my team leader that bouncing breasts are very inappropriate in the workplace.
There had been several complains on me for a long time (she claims).
And that i from now on, always had to use a bra.
Was she right to correct me like that, should i complain on her ?
I haven't tried, but i am sure i will not pass the pencil test (or even a dozen pencils). After what I can remember, my size is 40ddd so i have a hard time finding good ones.
But i will consider getting a professional bra fitting :)
Go to Lane Bryant! I had the same issues for years with BB (big boobs) and after being fit, I no longer have issues.
you're a 40ddd and you don't wear a bra?and you're really a nurse?
and you're not understanding if you're wrong???

40 DD breast is large, though it's not abnormal in any way.
I do understand i am wrong now.
And this post has been a big wake up call for me .
But i also feel that there are cultural differences between
US and Canada.

honey, you should never, ever jiggle at work.
we nurses do an awful lot of running.
and MY boobs hurt (34c's) just thinking of running braless.
40dd's and i'd have black eyes.
i like the idea of a sports bra.

I knew a nurse that didn't wear bras..she was extremely small(I'm sure there are 12 year olds that have more up top) and she didn't feel the need to wear one. And before anyone thinks I'm a peeping tom..our locker rooms in the OR are open spaces.
I've known quite a few male (and a few female)surgeons that have told me straight out that they don't wear underwear..We have some very odd conversations in the OR. Anyhoo, they do this because it's not uncommon to get soaked with blood and other fluids during surgery. This way they just rinse off quickly after surgery and grab another pair of scrubs-no contaminated underwear to contend with. Me, I wear underwear but am not going to throw stones at someone if they wish to go commando.
I've gone without a bra on a couple of occasions. The first time was because it was a new bra, I wore it to work and was so dang uncomfortable I knew I couldn't last a whole shift with it on. The second time, the wire on the underside was poking through and was jabbing me. So, I went braless on those 2 occasions-I'm kind of on the small side though. Have to admit, it did feel kind of freeing..
I think people may be overreacting a wee bit here...what about the sixties? Were there no bra-burning, hippie types in nursing?
And Kath80, if you ever question WHY you need to always wear a bra at work, just re-read the men's posts in this thread! :chuckle
Hey, I wasn't quite THAT bad!
Personally, I've seen plenty of stuff even more tasteless among health-care workers nowadays. Girls with their "whale tails" shining brightly for everyone to see, along with their butt cheeks. People of both sexes going commando and not keeping their britches hitched up. Guys doing the "L.A. Sag".

I'm a 38DD so I hear you. It's really hard to find good fitting bras, but it's essential and worth it.
