I am fortunate to have a BF that can fix my car and he will cover me on anything I can't pay for.

Well, the car part came true last night. My clutch went bye-bye! Poor guy is going to try to get it done today but I have a spare cr*ppy car that I can drive to school if need be...

Loans and I've recently applied for a special circumstance to get grants. I had to quit my job in May to even be considered for it. If I get the grants, then I don't have to use as much of my loan money. I'm lucky that my BF can fully support me, I just don't want him to have to pay for school as well, even though he wouldn't mind. I guess I just want to do it for myself. The jurries still out on the grants so I just have to sit and wait.

we'll be using our vacation pay and anything we can save up between now and then! its going to be very tight! Its just unreal that with 2 small kids and only one salary, I get no assistance!

Hopefully my grades will get me a scholarship though!

I was going on a scholarship but if I don't pass the entrance exam then I will have to pay for classes on my own until I'm officially "accepted" into the nursing program and my scholarship starts. I just can't see waiting a another year (nursing prog. starts in the fall) so I'll pay for it out of pocket.

I am working part time as a medical assistant at a pediatric office, teach CPR on the side and travel 70 miles a once month to pull paid shifts on my hometown ambulance service. I have a Stafford loan but it did not even cover the cost of tuition.

My husband makes decent money but it alone does not pay bills. We also have a two-year old.

Right now I am getting prereq's out ofthe way but I am hoping to get scholarships as I get into the nursing program. I worked my butt off to get all A's my first semester.

I recommend you keep an eye on the HRSA web site. They have a great scholarship program and loan repayment programs. RIght now they don't have all they have in the past but they update regularly.

Hopefully, a state program that pays for schooling for disabled people will be paying for my tuition and books. I'm in the process of applying for it now. For living expenses, I have a small monthly income that I'll supplement with either grants or loans.

I'm only going part time, so right now school is being payed for out of my wonderful husbands pockets :D. After I get a few classes under my belt, I hope to apply for scholarships, or grants to help me with the actual nursing program.

Using Stafford loans right now, last year i had pell grant, but i made too much money for this year so it's all loaned out right now. i have applied to a nursing school in PA, and they have a full tuition loan program so if i get in, i'llhave to sign a contract to work so that school will be paid for. unfortunetly this is the ONLY way i can do it seeing how i work full time 50hrs now, and will only be able to work about 10-15 hrs when i go to school...ahhh the life of a student!!!

My husband makes too much money for me to get any kind of grant or scholarship. I tried to get a Stafford loan but couldn't because of previous degress in another field. So I am going to have to get a private loan, which has a much higher interest rate.

Luckily I am going to the community college where the total cost of the program is about $5000. I have a friend going to a private school where the program costs $40,000!

Please be aware of the fact that most scholarships have nothing at all to do with your income. HOwever some grants and other aid due depend on you income.

I am married with 3 children. My husband and I both work full time. I attend an accelerated BSN program at a private college so it is expensive. I was recently selected to receive a scholarship from a local hospital that requires me to work there for two years upon graduation.

So I have money to help pay school and a job after graduation. What more could I ask for?:) :) :)
