Start a family VS nursing school

here is a suggestion...i'm currently pregnant (totally accidently!) so therefore i did not take my acceptance to nursing school in PA, my DH is in the Army and i know he will be leaving for a year. SO./.. my mom has offered to baby sit after the baby is born and i'm going to just do the LPN program first. Full-time is only 11 months where i'll be going from 230pm - 10pm...luckily with DH in iraq i don't have to work so during the day i'll be with my son, and at night i'll work...once DH gets back from iraq i'll probably go part-time through the LPN/RN transition classes and work part-time...finacially this worked better for me since we made too much money for me to get grants or any fin-aide. but after the baby comes, and with DH;s extra pay for war time i'll be better able to handle school/family, instead of school/family/and work....just a suggestion! some people say that doing it this way is the LONG way, but instead of looking at it like that i see it as a great stepping stone to learning!

Sacrifice and feelings of guilt... it's long.. sorry

yeah but look at this way...you get to spend more time with your kids now than you did before right? to me that's much more precious in the long run than the b-day party at the pizza place!

Signed up for class for Spring quarter....

Well i signed up for classes for spring quarter last night. Medical Terminology-should be pretty easy since i took it back in high school Nutrition- taking this by video, doesn't look too bad, but i haven't gotten the syllabus for it yet! Cultural Diversity- taking this one by video as well, but it looks HARD! i may need some of you all's help with this one. i have to speak/interview different cultures for one of my assignments, and it's a little difficult here. well what's everyone else taking this Spring/Summer?

    Skinny Dipping

Skinny Dipping > > > An old farmer in Georgia had owned a large farm for several years. He > had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe > courts, basketball court, etc. The pond was properly shaped and fixed > up for swimming when it was built. > > One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he > hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. As he neared the > pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. > > As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny dipping > in his pond. > > He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the > deep end of the pond. > > One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you > leave." > > The old man replied, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies > swim or make you get out of the pond naked." > > "I'm here to feed the alligator." > > Moral: Old age and cunning will triumph over youth and enthusiasm > every time. :rotfl:

Has anyone taken the PSB entrance test?

kchop- Yeah in the front of the book is the break down of all the tests and times and scoring (i believe). I really like that one and the Barron's pre entrance exam review book. if you get the one by Marion Gooding get the 16th edition one. if you have any more questions let me know!

    Help Decide!

first off CONGRATS on getting accepted to not one but TWO schools! Great Job...too me i think the state college sounds better, but that's just because i hate to drive all over to get to the hospitals...the closer the better, but only you can decide what's right for you and your family! Wishing you all the best!

    NLN Pre-Admission Exam (PAX-RN)

i took the PSB-RN test back in Jan and the science section was HARD to me too...i actually had some biochem, and physic and patho on my test...i got an 81% but my verbal, reading and math i got mid to high 90's in. totally understand your frustration on that! i used the Nursing and Allied Health entrance exam review book by Marion Gooding and the Barrons guide to study with! hope you did well Amy!
