The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

I see alot of people are in the same boat as me! Im 27 and I have been accepted into a BSN program starting Jan 2014!

I will be 30 when I graduate. Prior to this I was an Auditor for Medicare, and I worked with alot of Nurses. So this is a "second career" for me as well, which feels strange to say because I still feel super young. We are one of the few U.S. accredited Nursing programs in the Caribbean so we get alot of women from other countries who are LPNs back home and have to start over. In my class there is 4 women who are over 30, 2 in the 25-29 category and 10 between 19-24.

I am 56 never say never

I will be 42 when I will start in January....

I turned 44 two weeks after starting my first semester which ends in a week and a half.

I am 33 and just finishing up my prerequisites. If all goes as planned, I'll be 34 when I start and 37 by the time I complete my BSN! I think that it is fantastic that so many people have had the courage to begin on this journey at a somewhat "unconventional" age, like myself. I have actually found that, while still challenging, school work is far easier now that I have gained some wisdom and life experience.

I was 19 years old when I started my BSN program. I am currently dying waiting to finish!!

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

19 when I started, 23 when I graduated.

25.. all goes well I will be 29 with my b.s.n

I am 36 years old and I start nursing school in January. I will be a nurse when I'm 38

18 when I started, graduating next saturday at 22! ?

I am in an LPN program and am 24 years old. I am the SECOND youngest person. Just an idea :)

I started my Bachelor of Science of Nursing last year, at the age of 27. It's been a wonderful yet hectic ride. Sometimes I feel as though i'm lacking so much knowledge and it can be disheartening. But I gotta keep reminding myself that it'll come with time and to just keep going and trying to learn as much as I can while I am a student.
