I guess this is aimed more at 2nd degree BSN students, but what made you decide where you went? Did you just apply to places nearby home? Or did you apply all over the country?

I am getting an associate but, I only applied to one school and got in my first try (thank goodness). I am married with kids, so no going away anywhere for me, however, my choice of a community college was the best I think because it has the lowest tuition of the 4 schools of nursing in my town. It also has a very high NCLEX-RN pass rate for many years past. I still haven't decided if I will do my BSN online or around here.

i applied to 11 different schools all over california. i was born and raised in northern CA, now living in southern CA, so i didn't mind moving somewhere different if needed. i am wait listed at 2 schools, and currently accepted to 2 schools. One of the schools i'm accepted to is a BSN program, and the other is an community college program, so it was not difficult to choose the higher degree.

I'm currently applying to 5 schools. One is where I got my BS from and the other 4 are located around the metro area. So whoever will take me, I'll go! 3 of the universities have the accelerated programs for 2nd bahelors degree students, so obviously they're my first choices.

I chose my program because it is the shortest accelerated nursing program in the state.
Which program?

I applied to only one school and I got in. It's not always the the smartest idea for most people, but I was planning on moving to a different state if I did not get into this program, and would therefore apply to schools in my new area once I got settled.

Being I'm in NY and HATE winter driving I only applied at the nearest school. If I didn't get in I'm honestly not sure what I would have done. As any other BSN program is a good 45+ minutes away.

I applied to schools with ABSN programs that had high NCLEX pass rates in cities where I thought it'd be nice to live. I had about 5 schools on my list throughout the East Coast (mostly in the northeast) because I was paranoid that I'd be rejected, though I got into my 2nd choice early on so I only applied to my first choice after that to save money.
I chose to stay on the East Coast because my family lives here. I have no desire to move to the West Coast and isolate myself. I'm already nervous about moving several hours away from my entire family, boyfriend, and friends to a city where I'm only acquainted with my roommate.

I'm from NY and I applied to 4-5 2nd degree ABSN programs no more than an hour from my home (schools in Westchester and one in NYC) since I would be commuting. Some ranged from 12 months to 18 months. I got accepted to all, but when it came down to it, I went with the one that was the most affordable so I wouldn't be in a crazy amount of debt after I finished - Even if it was 3 months longer than the school I originally wanted to attend. They are all expensive, some more than others so that was my main concern when deciding.
Best of luck, I know how difficult the whole process is.
