Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....
Anyhow, I have enjoyed so much your sharing, help and support here on the Healthier Living Thread....let's keep it up!!!!!:)
QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?
I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....
Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????
.....................today was weigh in day and i'm down 4 more pounds!!!!................................that's 11 pounds in three weeks! i'm finally feeling trim and not like the pillsbury doughboy. i'm one pound from my original goal, which unfortunately was set too high and i'm going to revise it five pounds lower, but am rejoicing i'm nearly at my first goal. woot!
way to go tweety!!! :yelclap:  :w00t: :icon_hug: :smiley_aa
Kat and Jess - thanks for the encouragement.Steph - you are right about the one meal thing, every once in a while, we have to splurge on ourselves.
Jess - I am like you, those 50 lbs. really weren't that hard to lose. I didn't feel like I was really depriving myself or working hard to get rid of them, but now it is getting harder. I can sympathize with your feelings because that's where I'm at too. You have done so well though, you will be able to lose those last stubborn pounds in no time!

My classes don't start until the 23rd, so I have one week of R&R left. I have to go take the NET on Wednesday though and I am a completely, manical mess right now! Plus, going to get that spot on my leg looked at right before that test, I am going to be a blubbering idiot until those are both over with and off my mind! I am really worried about not passing that test, I hope I can pull it off. That and totally freaked out about what my Dr. will say about that stupid spot.
I am bummed today, so forgive me for hogging this thread, but I am really needing it today. I feel depressed, which is not like me, but I think I could easily go off in a corner and sob for the whole day. Thanks to all of you who understand. :)
What's the matter hon? Don't let the test get to you, I am sure you will do better than you even think! Have you applied to any program yet?
Tweety, congratulations on the weightloss. I am shocked at the wonderful results you are having on your diet. Definitely worth it and a keeper!
On another note..........I am with most of you. My cubbards are limited. I occasionally flip on the cooking channel or pick up diet books and my gosh......you almost need to be super rich to afford what the recipes call for. I just can't do it, so I stick to my sazón creole versions for everythig......hehe
Renee, spaghetti sounds good........congrats on your healthier living!
Morning Healthy ones!
It's day 2 of my Rice Diet, woke up with a pounding headache. I know I am not supposed to have caffeinated coffee but this is an emergency.......hehe
Looking forward to my breakfast apple already too. I am debating whether to wait til monday to weigh myself or just do it friday?
Anyhow, this is harder than I thought............lol
Tweety, again congrats! You rock!!!!
