Love this one as well. It is staff appreciation week this week at my school; I have never gotten a specific recognition for nurse's week or school nurse's day.

I've had 2 staff members say "Happy Nurses Day" because they either heard about it on the radio or Facebook.

I had the Special Ed kids come down with homemade cards and hugs for me! They are THE BEST!

It's all about you guys/me today. Try to be kind to yourself today as you are being showered with love, recognition, and appreciation- in between snatching kids from the jaws of death.

I had that kid yesterday with status asthmaticus . . . . . .scary. All ended up well though.

Today is my day off from school nursing. I'm hospice today. My first year, I got a plant from the staff at one elementary school. Basically, no one knows about this "Happy Nurses Week" stuff and honestly, I'm ok with that. I like living in the background. ;)

Yesterday, an entire 3rd grade class came into the clinic one-by-one to tell me "Thanks for being our school nurse!". So cute!

Wishing a Happy Nurse's Day for all the school nurses out there! Today is also officially recognized as National School Nurse Day by NASN!

I was not expecting a thing as the week has been focused on Teacher Appreciation. So imagine my surprise when I arrived at school to find a very heartfelt email from the principal to all the staff recognizing my hard work on this day! Plus I received a Thank You card, gift card and an invitation to crash the PTO sponsored teacher luncheon. I even got to eat my yummy lunch outside at the picnic table while basking in the beautiful sunshine! Today is a great day! :woot:

Happy School Nurses' Day!!!!

I actually had a great day. 44 kids today which is way down from the 65 I had on Monday. lol!! It was probably closer to 75 but I stuck myself with a used insulin needle so it was off to the lab I went on Monday while another nurse covered.

I got a bouquet of flowers, Starbucks GC and letters from a couple of the classes. Feels so nice to be appreciated. Hopefully that feeling will get me through another year. :-)

I got tulips, a Mary Kay gift bag with 3 bottles of hand goodies, a candle, journal and candy from my secretaries. A Target gift card, multiple bags of popcorn, a cookie, and gum from my staff. And a Chick-Fil-A gift card from my principal. ::spoiled:: :yes:
