OK. OK. It may be a bit too much but I love it!!
What do you think? A little overboard?

Yes I am really excited about it. We are supposed to be having a seafood buffet with steamed shrimp, crab cakes, crab legs, scallops wrapped in bacon, and fried chicken! OK, doesn't take much to get me excited..... BUT, in years gone by, there's been nothing. So I am greatful....

HI everyone, Happy Nurses Week!!!!!
Let's all tell where we went to school, what our caps and pins look like.
Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA.
White Organza, depending on when you graduated you either shaped the bulb of the cap with a light bulb sitting in a glass or half of a Leggs pantihose egg in a glass. Starched, and brim ironed like wings.
Pin was gold, center dark navy with a light blue cross and around the boarder Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing. Back engraved, again depending on when you graduated with your name and year or initials and year.

No caps
I never got a pin, could not afford it at the time but it had a nurse holding a lamp I think.

Celebrating by not being at work!
Tomorrow (Friday)3-5pm there is a nursing day celebration with a 2 hour thing set up where we can go shopping, pick up our gifts, food, etc. I know that there will be no one to cover us on the floors, so I doubt many of us working med/surg/tele 12hours will be able to go. I do know that certain co-workers of mine will make sure that they will get the time to go down, but will not work extra hard so other can go by covering while gone (happened 2 weeks ago with a skin competency day and last years nurses day celebration). Sometimes its more stressful to leave the unit.
Oh well, not to be too negative. Happy nurses day to all of us, I will celebrate today by relaxing, reading articles, and thinking about the role of nurses in the grand scheme of things, outside of my unit at my hospital.

I'm the only LVN (nurse) in my facility and the admin assistants remembered MY day because I remembered THEIR day a few weeks ago! As far as my company, manager, techs-NADA!!
I got some beautiful flowers and some banana nut muffins from my "front office friends"!!
