Feel better, @Hoosier_RN. ?

In Illinois.
I'll be thinking of you.
Thanks, dear! Nope, I'm sitting in my recliner drinking some oj. Just got done with a little cleaning around the house. Going to watch TV and nap the rest of the day

So sorry to hear this, prayers for a mild case and speedy recovery! That sounds like the kind of luck I would have too, ugh.

Back in the 70's, Johnny Carson said, "Life would be fair if Elvis was still alive and all the impersonators were dead!"
No, life is not fair. My Mama used to say that all the time to me and my siblings, and I quote "No where on your birth certificate does it say life will be fair".
Hard to hear at times but makes life a little easier when you accept that and learn to roll with it!

One of my favs is what a supervisor said to me when he instructed me to perform a task for which I didn't care.
He said, "You don't have to like it. You only have to do it."

Lately, I feel like this is a quote I need to keep in mind for myself as work has changed quite a bit throughout this pandemic and I'm frequently finding myself asked to perform tasks I'm not keen on in favor of those that would be more my preference. As long as I do what I'm assigned, I don't necessarily have to enjoy everything. However, I'm hoping to try and do a better job in finding the positivity in all aspects of work.
Summary for me:
1. Set a better example for those around me. If I want other nurses to be flexible, I need to be the same way myself.
2. Volunteer for tasks I wouldn't normally want to take on. This would be a good way of demonstrating a teamwork-like mentality and may end up provide beneficial experience and improving my skills in other ways.
3. Finding better methods of coping with stress that don't involve excessive pop and junk food intake. Also finding methods of rewarding or enjoying myself that don't necessarily involve spending money on things I don't need.
What I’m doing (I didn’t come up with this, I saw it online) is that I identified twelve “thirty day challenges” and I’ve planned a new one for each month. January is to do yoga every day. February is to study Spanish every day. March is to walk outdoors every day. Etc. I feel that I can actually keep up with things for 30 days and if I fall off the wagon, I’ll get a chance to start a new “resolution” the next month.
