I have big plans for 2021
To finally pay off my student loan! If everything goes to plan it should be paid off May 26! 10 more pays (I get paid fortnightly) $8500 to go.
if covid is showing no signs of slowing down, then I will be focusing on getting a house. If the vaccine is working, I’ll be getting ready to travel again in 2022. I had a lot of travel canceled in 2020 :(
Also I have 2 papers left for a science degree I want to complete, while it doesn’t help much careers wise, it will offer a lot of closure from a terrible time in my life, that I always regretted. (age 18 fresh out of high school, till 21 when I finally got my sh*t together)
Finally to get more hobbies, travel was my only hobbie, I have a few in mind. but I’ll see how that goes.

I hope you are fully recovered now! I don't know if the poliicies are different where you work but for me I have never been tested. I have been working with known COVID positive patients, never been required to test or even been offered one. I suppose if I developed symptoms I could ask for a test. For all I know I've had it and been one of the lucky asymptomatic people. My husband has had a "cold" and it's entirely possible he's positive and I brought it home to him. My husband however is allergic to anybody medical other than of course me so he refuses to go in and get checked, so I guess I'll never know.

Fresenius has policies that cover specifically, whether a particular unit chooses to follow is another story. I know folks that work for Fresenius in other states that say that they don't. In Indiana, we have covid specifically units set up, so that even if a patient is suspect with ANY symptoms, off they go until 2 consecutive negative tests. My buddy at the area DaVita says its the same there. Perhaps it's a state thing...Today, I go for my second test, as I have to have 2 consecutive negative tests 24hrs or more apart. I had my 1st yesterday, waiting on results. Only current symptom, tired, but I've been tired for ages, longer than Covid ? .
In actuality I'm ready to get back to work. Staying at home in isolation is a real downer!

I had 2 consecutive negative tests. I'm beyond grateful to be able to return to work, and a somewhat normal life

Yes, there is that policy in place. For patients at least. My clinic is the designated COVID positive unit in our area so they come from all over to us for the COVID shift. We have a separate shift for the PUI patients that has moved to another clinic after we started getting too many positives to accommodate both the confirmed positives and PUI's.
I work the COVID shift frequently which I am fine with. I also worked the PUI a lot before it was moved to a different clinic. I'm just a little surprised that with all the known exposure none of the staff that regularly work with this population have ever been tested ourselves.
I have to say though we are doing a great job with our infection control. There's not a single case of a patient becoming positive due to clinic exposure from either other patients or exposed staff moving between COVID shifts and regular shifts.
I am glad you are feeling better and ready to get back to work!

Gotcha, I thought you were working a regular unit. I know, it is weird that staff, especially assigned to PUI isn't tested regularly. Sadly, I think TPTB just don't want to know. But once you are positive, they definitely have a ton of policies in place to protect patients and other staff...If I still worked the floor, I'd go work a PUI clinic, as many of my staff has assisted. The bonuses are pretty good, at least around here. Take care of you, and stay well!
