Mornin' all. I got my first dose today and I feel almost tearfully relieved and energized to be on this side of history. I thought I would start a thread dedicated to the experience of being vaccinated, so that we can share info with those who are still on the fence or who are watchful waiting to see how things go.

My hospital got 5000 doses delivered on Tuesday. We have given almost half of that already in the last two days. Participation is voluntary and divided into tiered groups based on patient exposure. Those who volunteer (still paid but outside normal job duties) to work the employee Covid vaccine clinic we have set up can also get it, which is how I was eligible to get it already today.

Getting the second dose is crucial for any protection, so we make an appointment to come back for the second dose on exactly day 21. We will get another shipment from Pfizer in time for that. My wait time in line was about 30 minutes in all. The first day employees showed up and waited over 2 hours, cheerfully. There is a LOT of positivity and hope going on here surrounding this, which feels amazing.

We go to an observation room for 10 minutes after the injection, where we were given bottled water and single serving snacks while we observe for any allergic reaction.

The injection itself was nothing. Easiest shot I have ever gotten by far. I don't even have any arm soreness so far. I will touch base if I start to get any kind of side effects.

Anyone else getting theirs yet?

Got the moderna vaccine 1st dose this morning. So far nothing more than some mild stiffness in deltoid.

Anyone registered for V-safe? And reporting symptoms/response to CDC. The information I got from work says go the the website, the website says go to the information your health care provider gave you. The hotline for questions is a general COVID hotline and doesn't even have V-safe as an option.  I sort of wanted to participate and provide feedback but not if it is impossible to actually register for! (Really poorly done CDC, really poorly done - why can't you just have a registration link on your web-page?!).

Has anyone signed up for that website after getting your shot? I believe it is for CDC and they want you to log in symptoms.

I'm lazy, so I didn't even bother. When they were explaining it to me I kept thinking " what am I getting out of this extra work?"

No thank you.

I tried to, can't get it to work. Instructions just send me in circles. ?‍♀️

Getting mine tonight after work. (Pfizer).   I am off tomorrow thankfully. I will take prophylactic Naproxen and Tylenol to hopefully head off arm soreness and reduce headache. I have a long  history of migraines.  Those of  you who have these and got a headache after, was it as bad as that? Or just a low grade headache? I really want to know as I suffer a LOT of headaches already.  I plan to rest up and hydrate all day tomorrow. I have no plans (does anyone?)

They are asking us to wait in our cars in the parking lot for 15 minutes to ensure no reaction. This is a small hospital and I guess they don't have a lot of space for us to sit around in there.

I have to be back at work on day 2 so I hope to be feeling well. I will check back in and let you know  how it goes! (2nd dose scheduled Jan 21)

I got the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. This morning, I woke up with a sharp, right-sided frontal headache, but it faded away within about half an hour. I didn't even feel the needle go in, but I have a small ~1cm bruise. Today my arm is a little more uncomfortable than what I usually get from the flu shot, but if I bump it, YEOW!

I worked today, but I feel a little off. Cranky. Irritable. Tired.

Like vereni, I can't figure out the V-Safe. When I got the shot, they told me their computer system was down. Maybe that's it? I'll try again tomorrow.

Wow. So that V-Safe things doesn't work. Did you get that print out? I, as stated before, won't be participating but it is interesting that there are some issues.

I got the Pfizer one a few days ago.  The injection itself was painless.  I was talking to the nurse giving it to me when I realized she was done and I never felt it.  My arm was very sore the next morning.  I couldn’t really use it.  I was also very sleepy about 24 hours out.  Best night of sleep I have had in years!!  I literally didn’t move all night!!

Day 2 arm still hurt but lessened up as the day went on.  By day 3 no pain at all!!

I feel so much better having got it.  I got covid earlier this Summer.  I’ve had 3 direct exposures from patients in my non covid ICU in the past month and I was not so worried about me, just worried about bringing it to my family just in case I could get it again but be asymptomatic.

No it doesn't seem to work at all. While the vaccine information sheet I had from my employer does mention it, it says to go to the CDC website, CDC website says to get hand-out from employer. Doesn't seem to be any actual way to register.

In update: It's been over 72 hours since 1st dose of moderna vaccine. Deltoid stiffness has been worse than flu shot but less than tetorifice shot for me. I've been fairly fatigued the last few days, but I think that has less to do with vaccine than with the amount of overtime I've worked recently (and then forgetting that New Years counts as holiday and subsequently needing to cram in an extra days worth of work into an already full week because I'm an idiot. ?‍♀️).

Isn't V Safe a product of Oracle? They couldn't even get a a statewide health related monitoring platform to function as promised back a few years ago.  At least the reporting suggests that Azar didn't pay them for the disappointing app.

Got the Moderna Vaccine on New Year's eve. It was a bit more uncomfortable than a flu shot. Shoulder was sore at the injection site and I found the fluid going in to be mildly uncomfortable. I had notable pain and tenderness in my deltoid around the injection site for a solid 36 hours and I currently have very mild tenderness at injection site a little over 48 hrs later. 24 hours after injection I had some mild body aches, mild headache (I did not feel I needed anything for HA), and was a bit more fatigued than normal, but, honestly, could be from the... ahem... celebratory libations on New Year's eve ? (enjoyed at home with members of my household).

I received Pfizer 12/21. I own AL’s. My Husband and my adult children got it at the same time. My Daughter (had COVID) had severe chills, body aches and fever. She said her arm hurt right after getting it. She felt she had COVID again. It lasted 3 days. My Son (had COVID) had headache, body aches, chills and fever. His lasted 4 days. My Husband day 1 reported arm soreness. Day 2 arm soreness and a little tired. Myself the injection was painless. Everyone was saying their arm was sore but I didn’t have it, until 4AM. Took Tylenol and it was fine. Day 2 mild arm soreness and VERY tired. Day 3 back to normal. We go back for booster 1/8/21

I got the Moderna on December 26. A little soreness in my arm the next day and jaw pain were my side effects.  I thought the jaw soreness was unrelated, until I spoke with my sister (got it on the 24th) and she too had experienced a sore jaw. Her arm soreness was more severe than mine, she actually put a lidocaine patch on.. but it only lasted a day.

By the next day, my arm felt OK., but I was tired and a little irritable for 2 more days. I'm fine, now.
