Mornin' all. I got my first dose today and I feel almost tearfully relieved and energized to be on this side of history. I thought I would start a thread dedicated to the experience of being vaccinated, so that we can share info with those who are still on the fence or who are watchful waiting to see how things go.

My hospital got 5000 doses delivered on Tuesday. We have given almost half of that already in the last two days. Participation is voluntary and divided into tiered groups based on patient exposure. Those who volunteer (still paid but outside normal job duties) to work the employee Covid vaccine clinic we have set up can also get it, which is how I was eligible to get it already today.

Getting the second dose is crucial for any protection, so we make an appointment to come back for the second dose on exactly day 21. We will get another shipment from Pfizer in time for that. My wait time in line was about 30 minutes in all. The first day employees showed up and waited over 2 hours, cheerfully. There is a LOT of positivity and hope going on here surrounding this, which feels amazing.

We go to an observation room for 10 minutes after the injection, where we were given bottled water and single serving snacks while we observe for any allergic reaction.

The injection itself was nothing. Easiest shot I have ever gotten by far. I don't even have any arm soreness so far. I will touch base if I start to get any kind of side effects.

Anyone else getting theirs yet?

Had my #2 Moderna day before yesterday. Stopped all my anti inflammatory stuff for really rotten arthritis as recommended four days before and had some miserable days before hobbling in to the mass vax site at the stadium.

Spent yesterday c sore throat and overwhelming fatigue but no fever since I restarted my industrial strength acetaminophen/naproxen/etc not much of a fever. Today not only do I feel a lot better, had a day on the mattress + meds and my knees are feeling (comparatively) great.

In two weeks we can go to a tenth birthday party! Eight weeks to my TKR!

Well done!

J&J vax was 3/31. Very tired the first nite, but nothing until this Wednesday, 4/7. Went to bed early being tired & just 'hot face'. I get flaring flares of facial roseaca. Took T just because ...

Temp 102.2; nothing else but a nasty headache when I woke up that morn.

Temp & headache resolved altho Temp still hovering 99.4. And all my normal aches & pains feel exacerbated. Feeling a little bit better today. Am taking my usual pain med & tyl.

My PMP is OK with me. Just waiting for all those 'Fauci's Ouchies antibodies to settle down.

Tired now - will just go to bed early. I will acknowledge that I have been waking up early (for ME!) these couple days.

Everyone in my family except 3 y/o step grandchild has now been vaccinated. All of us got Pfizer except MIL (got Moderna). None of us had severe side effects, though everyone did have a pretty sore arm for a couple of days.

We are all very happy we did it and view it as a step towards normalcy.

I received the Moderna Vaccine in January.

After the first dose, my arm was VERY sore (for 2 days). No other side effects.

The day I received my second, I became very sleepy. The day after my second dose I had chills, a head ache and body aches. I was fine by day 3!
