Getting Flack For Not Getting Covid Vaccine

I am trying to feel out if anyone else has declined the Covid vaccine and feeling backlash or tension with other co-workers? I have never heard so much discussion regarding nurse receiving or declining a vaccine in the 12 years I've been a nurse. Not sure why it should even matter but, I am getting a lot of pressure about it. I do not see why I am "crazy " if I made the decision against receiving the vaccine. I also do not understand co-workers pushing the vaccine on me and others, or insisting we are out of our minds.  This is coming from management level as well as staff nurses. I am just appalled at the treatment and many of us who have declined the vaccine have kept to ourselves. For me, personally, I made the choice not to get it and I was done at that. It's been a month into our hospital vaccines and people will not just shut up about it.

Is anyone else experiencing anything like this?

How are you handing this?

Please mind the poor spelling and grammar ?

Just yet another problem this year is that people can't mind their own business. It's your body, do your own research and make your choice. I also believe if you choose not to get it you have the right to complain about covid. Another annoying issue this year  is people thinking they have the right to limit your free speech if they disagree with you.

I don't know about the vintage but I do know that in certain survival situations you can drink your own urine which is sterile when it leaves the body, I think I would have to be literally dying before I would try it!

Well, pretty sure it's sterile in the bladder.  But, having had the misfortune of seeing a whole bunch of body parts I can't unsee, I can tell you it is not sterile once it goes into a sippy cup, or travel mug.
Also, I suspect it tastes like piss.

Just checked.  First amendment is still intact.
This discussion is an example of freedom of speech.  Being called out, or disagreed with is not a limitation of freedom of speech.

You keep saying this^^  all it does is shows you don't understand how vaccines work!

Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defences – the immune system – to recognize and fight off viruses and bacteria. If the body is exposed to those disease-causing pathogens later, it will be ready to destroy them quickly – which prevents illness.

When a person gets vaccinated against a disease, their risk of infection is also reduced – so they’re also less likely to transmit the virus or bacteria to others. As more people in a community get vaccinated, fewer people remain vulnerable, and there is less possibility for an infected person to pass the pathogen on to another person. Lowering the possibility for a pathogen to circulate in the community protects those who cannot be vaccinated (due to health conditions, like allergies, or their age) from the disease targeted by the vaccine.

There now, do you want it any simpler? I don't think I can.

Now that I agree with. Add in the UK as well.

Has the mRNA vaccine been proven to provide long term immunity? I do not think it has. Being the first of its kind, I believe the word is still out on just how exactly this vaccine works, how long the effects last, etc.
I think it’s reasonable to question it. I’d argue that questioning the status quo, or the whys of doing things, is a healthy mind to have in medicine and/or nursing.

Do your own research, or in other words find as many sources as you can that agree with your opinion, and ignore what actual science indicates.

To paraphrase Ben Shapiro, science doesn't care about your feelings.

You can carry on all you want about rights and your body. Just as I can carry on about how devastating this disease can be and what we can do to slow the spread.

This is patently false. Virologists and people who take the time to learn know exactly how this vaccine works. Long term immunity is not known, just as it isn't known from actually infection. Because it's a novel infection!

Why does everything have to be about politics? Was this comment even necessary? There is nothing constructive about this comment. Thank you for providing your emotionally driven response.

Show me the studies that prove my statements are false.
There have been a lot of comments on this thread about ‘taking the time to learn the facts’ but no one is providing facts or data to back up their emotional responses.

Many responders on this thread seem to think that just because they have decades of experience in one specific field, or maybe don’t recognize that they don’t know how to emotionally work through the difficult year us nurses have had taking care of the patients who have suffered from Covid, or taking care of increased work loads with limited resources and budget cuts, which by the way is what we signed up for, they are all knowing in all areas of science and medicine, and that their opinions and emotional feelings trump factual information.
From what I see, most of the responders on these threads are grumpy old nurses with decades of practicing old outdated science under their belts trying to stay relevant by making new nurses and young minds feel like s***.

if our current President was a Republican instead of a Democrat his cognitive abilities and his recent racist statements would have been on the news every night instead of swept under the rug.

Donald Trump was on the news boasting about how he passed his MoCA. I mean Sheesh thats not a difficult test if your cognitively intact. As for his racist comments could you post some direct links to what Biden said

The man flip flopped and changed his mind more often yea well. He changed his mind alot. Even when he lead the insurection and the storming of the capitol, turned around and have the equivalent excuse of "well thats not what I mean"
