I am trying to feel out if anyone else has declined the Covid vaccine and feeling backlash or tension with other co-workers? I have never heard so much discussion regarding nurse receiving or declining a vaccine in the 12 years I've been a nurse. Not sure why it should even matter but, I am getting a lot of pressure about it. I do not see why I am "crazy " if I made the decision against receiving the vaccine. I also do not understand co-workers pushing the vaccine on me and others, or insisting we are out of our minds. This is coming from management level as well as staff nurses. I am just appalled at the treatment and many of us who have declined the vaccine have kept to ourselves. For me, personally, I made the choice not to get it and I was done at that. It's been a month into our hospital vaccines and people will not just shut up about it.

The vaccine *was* rushed. Meaning it went to market the fastest of any vaccine before this. For a disease that at the time was less than a year old.
So it comes down to your definition of “rushed”.

What is your definition of adequate time of development? MMR has been around since 1963 and some say it hasn't been studied enough.
How long does it take for long term safety data to be gathered? 10 years? a generation, multiple generations?
I understand being concerned about fertility, although there is no basis for this, but I hope women of child bearing age are being especially cautious about contracting COVID because it is known to increase deaths in pregnant women.

I got my 2nd dose of Moderna vaccine yesterday am. I normally never react to vaccines. Woke up today feeling like hammered dog poo. However, I did a very light work out, took a hot shower and 2 Ibuprofen, and an hour after that felt 80% better.
When I floated to covid, I did ask someone if they were vaccinated and she said no, but didn't pressure or judge but confess to find it odd that a covid worker wouldn't get vaccinated.
If there’s no judgment then why ask? Don’t ask don’t tell seems to be the safest. Where I work, they require the annual flu shot and hand out badge holders that state “I got the shot! 2017” or something similar-it changes each year with the new year on it. People who don’t or can’t get the shot get hassled almost to the point of questioning a person’s medical history and educational background. I have heard the grilling questions....

Maybe the person said something in the course of conversation which made the question relevant.
If the vaccinated and unvaccinated are described as BRICKS , the unvaccinated can be said to have poor quality materials that stacked wrong or apply weight to them, WILL CRUMBLE!
We know that certain diseases will kill or maim people including the coronavirus. We have proven that previous vaccines work for other viruses that have infected us! If you don't believe in the Rna vaccine, then take the conventional vaccine.

Because YOU WILL get infected and whether asymptomatic or not, you can infect your loved ones and possibly kill or maim them!

I tried to explain a situation using descriptive terms and you arrive at shame. May I ask, why do you feel ashamed about it? It's a negative generated emotion for an embarrassing occurrence. Why do you feel ashamed of not taking or defending others re not taking the vaccine?
I actually think I am engaged in education. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link!

Not sure of how much of the science is right here. Read this a long time ago and I can't remember where. It will be sound information though. About 15% of our gut organisms are viruses probably phages feeding on dangerous bacteria. They work beneficially for us in ways we haven't even fathomed. Viruses are responsible for all life on earth due to their processes of exchanging and modifying DNA and RNA to produce the right sequences for protein production etc. Life probably began when viruses adapted to forming chains, giving rise to cells that created specialized organs for metabolism, reproduction etc, that evolved into living multi cellular beings and eventually us.
Viruses are by far, a massive amount, the most abundant and prolific life forms on the planet.
We have evolved to live with viruses and not the other way around. In terms of religion AND I AM NOT BEING FACETIOUS, man was made in the image of a virus, since God apparently loved them so much that he decided that they should rule the planet! All the living organisms on the planet combined probably doesn't make up a milliont(?) of all the viruses combined.
Knowing just that little has given me the humility to respect the amazing body we have and the extremely acute balances we require to keep our life sustained. It especially allows me to respect just how amazing our immune system is and the numerous autonomic processes functioning to keep us alive.

That's nothing more than your opinion...most of it contrary to the opinion of most people. It's widely known that Fauci was trying to give the public good information while Trump was lying and Trump sycophants were mucking up communication and coordination about covid. Had Trump listened to Fauci the country likely wouldn't be a hotbed of covid today.
