What do you pray for?

Hello everyone,

what do you pray for. I am in a bind right now. I just can't seem to find good employment. I left a very stressful job which was affecting both my mental and physical health. There were days I couldn't get out of bed. I was treated poorly. I have been job hunting had a few offers none better than the place I left. I recently had an interview pretty much got the job then I was shown the schedule impossible I would need to live in the office building to work those hours.

Then I got a job started working travelled two hours to get there only to find the terms of the contract change to unfavourable term left a bitter taste. So I am back to square one. I applied to my old job as per my hubby's request still waiting for reply. I really prayed for assistance.

My hubby says you can't pray for help in finding a job that suits your needs. You must settle to pay your bills. I am at the end of my rope feeling real useless, second guessing going into this profession. So what do you pray for?

I've never had the perfect job for me and never expect to have it. That's just a fact of life. There will always be some issue or other that makes it imperfect, its a matter of knowing which imperfections are acceptable and which are not.

Even on its worst day, my job in LTC gives me far more personal satisfaction than any day in my previous career.

I pray that I do well enough in my current job to keep it and that they keep me on and pay me more when I get my RN.

You can pray for help in finding a job that suits your needs!! What you are really praying for is that God gets you through the rough stuff so you can find your niche and the job you were meant to have! Taking the crappy jobs, the stressful jobs, leaving jobs that dont quite suit, are all leading you to where God has meant for you to be.

Pray for that. Pray that God knows his plan for you and will bring it to you!

You must do what you have to do to pay your bills, but pray for the RIGHT job to come to you!

Nothing is golden the first time out. I was let go of jobs for politiccal reasons, for selfish reasons, for the worng reasons, and for the right reasons, but I didnt know it at the time. A year ago I started the job that actually lets me see the direction I should be taking, and I have been a nurse since 1993!

Dont be discouraged, just remember for all of us in His plan, there is a light you just cant see it yet!

Thank-you. I will keep praying and asking God to lead me in the right direction.

I to am still looking for a job. I probably should have bit my tongue, swallowed my pride, let my home life go to heck, as well as my let my health suffer to where I was always in pain.........Sorry but not me. I know I have to pay my bills and find a job and I am so worried about medical benefits and I am losing my skills (I could go on and on).

But, I refuse to drink the kool aid (I love that line, sorry can't remember who to reference from @ allnurses). I truly believe that one does not have to "settle" - sure maybe to pay the bills for a bit, but never settle for the long term. There is always a way. There has to be! There just has to be.

Nurses make up the largest medical profession in the US - we should make things amazing. It still baffles me.

I pray that the lord opens a place for me at any health facility that will accept me. But i am very specific i want to be in a place where i will be the most benefit to others and be able to take care of my family. I ask god to grant me the strength to deal with every situation that comes my way in an unbiased manner. God gives you what you need not what you want.

Destiny, pray that God's will be done. Having said that, don't be afraid to ask for other people's prayers. You are obviously a believer. The power of prayer is a well known force for good in the world. You are now in my prayers. Do not give up hope. Good Luck and let us know how it all turns out.:redbeathe:hug:

I don't pray. I am an atheist.

I agree with both you and your husband. I agree that sometimes, in order to pay the bills, one must do what one must do. On the other hand, I agree that job satisfaction in the long run is crucial. Sometimes, you take what you can get while you keep looking for what you really want.

I pray for everything more importantly, I pray for a job that suits my needs, in the meantime I'll keep the stupid job that I havenow so that I can take care of my kids. I am a single parent with two kids to take care of, I dont hate my job, I just hate the way administration is treating me. First, I was hired with a certain salary then on my first day there they decided that they needed to cut my salary. Ok, I stuck with them because I needed the experience, now they cut my hours. I'm ******, I'm angry but I cant quit because I still have not found another job. Its very frustrating but, I have to do what I have to do for my kids. Sorry for going on and on about my situation, I guess I needed to vent.

I pray and ask for what I want and always add if he thinks that it is best for me. We all settle sometimes because of the situation we are in at that time.

I do not like to settle, but have to sometimes based on my pros and cons list. I hope everything works out for you.
