I am addicted to food and don't exercise at all. When I get home from work all I do is sit on the couch , watch tv, and eat. I order out almost every day and constantly eat junk food. I can no longer fit some of my colthes and I don't like going out as much as I like to due to my weight. My husband loves me and still find me to be sexy but wants me to lose some weight.

I know what obesity can do to my health and I know what I need to do to lose weight but I just don't do it. I'm not going to list any excuses because there are none. I just love to eat bad food and haven't tried to make any changes. I uses to go to the gym a lot while in nursing school now I don't go at all. Im fed up with being fat and crying . I need to change but I just don't have the will.

Right now I have failed myself, I even have chinese food on the way as I'm typing this. Tomorrow is another day and I pray that it will be the day that I get enough strength to make some changes. Tomorrow we are going to a party where I will be tempted with food. I'm going to try my best to set my limits and make healthy choices. thanks for letting me vent. Take care everyone.

Taco bell has lower fat steak tacos.......they're delicious..............also, KFC grilled chicken is lower fat. Not all fast food is unhealthy, take smaller steps, only diet soda and water, for instance. Itll happen slower with small steps, but I did lose 30 pounds in a year this way, so it DOES work.

I agree. I did WW a couple of years ago. I did everything online and it worked great. I thought it would be a little difficult at first, but it wasn't. Once we started eating healthier foods, I didn't even really crave bad food. If you are serious about losing weight, look into WW. They help you eat a balanced diet and fit exercise into your weight loss goals. The thing with WW is that it is a lifestyle change, not a diet. There are many "diets" out there, but remember all you need to do is learn how to eat a balanced diet and correct serving sizes. Take small steps, start eating more fruit and veggies, whole grains and drink more water. Eventually, you won't even want fast food, and you will have more energy! One more thing, try packing extra snacks in your lunch like carrots or granola bars to munch on on your way home from work. Then you may not have an urge to sit on the couch and eat when you get home.

Up your fiber intake. You won't believe how much that has helped.

Eat at home, drink only water at the party and stay away from fatty foods. You can do it. OK that's day one. Have you had a physical to determine if there is a reason for your compulsive eating? If not get one. Walk everywhere you can. Park as far away from the door as is safe. Take your lunch and eat nothing else at work. Shop sensibly. Don't do takeout over once or twice a month and that should be as a treat not as a routine meal. I never gained wieght on night shift though the work was much easier-at least on my floor. Then I was too tired to eat when I got home.

Make a list of what you love to eat. Pick one and scratch it off. It's not on your list. Next week pick another- now there are 2 that arent on your list......follow through. Make a pact with your husband is he enabling you. Tell him to cut it out. Encouragement or nothing. YOu CAN do it! NURSE take care of thyself.

There is this cool website called "The Daily Plate" you type in what you ate and what activities you did. It helps me see all the little bites of this and that that really add up.

Today is the day sister. Start today. Right now. If you had the Chinese -ok then. Get up and take a 20 minute walk. Just 20 minutes. You can do it. Energy begets energy. I was where you were. It comes down to you honey, no one else. I know, I know, "but I alwys start and fail" that's ok, just do it today. Eat today how you should, and if you fail, ok-go back to what you know you need to do. Just start today. YOu don't have to be perfect-just start. What a wonderful day to start a new way of life-just start.

Good luck to you and get on it!!

by any chance, are you depressed?

that would explain your self-castigating behaviors.

if you are depressed, i would talk to my doc about therapy and possibly antidepressants.

if you're not depressed...hmmm...i honestly don't know.

somehow you need to regain control of yourself.

you know that cliche...'just say no'.

let us know how it goes?

best of everything.

If you decide on WW, please do not eat their food. It's designed to keep you on the weight rollercoaster.

Please watch this lecture. It has really helped to motivate me to change the way I eat.
