I assume you're referring to a new graduate RN. The answer depends on the region of the country. In the SF Bay area, which is strongly union, new grads start at $32/hr to $36/hr.

If the new grad can find a job......

Please research the BB. This question has been asked and answered numerous times.

It depends on where you live/work (some regions pay better), what type of work you do (office vs hospital vs HHC vs LTC, etc.), age, experience, etc.

There is no one right answer.

That also depends on whether you get a job. Despite plenty of "advertised" positions, very few new grad nurses are being hired in most regions.

however, if mindystl is just starting her schooling, maybe the economy will have turned around by the time she's in the job market (3-4 yrs) and there will be plenty of nursing jobs!!

In Chicago, IL it's about $25/hr if you are lucky.
If you leave Chicago and go to burbs, lucky at starting at $23. Outside of Chicago and burbs I have no idea.
