How bad is it to wear the same suit to a second interview? Its blue, so will be obvious.

I got past the first interview, and was invited back for a second one and have nothing else to wear. I am oddly shaped and petite and spent 5 hours in the mall last night trying on every suit I could find and ended up with nothing even remotely suitable. I am ready to pull my hair out. I typically need to get things tailored because of my height and shape and due to the holiday and short notice, I am stuck.

How bad it is? Will they hold it against me? Do you notice what people are wearing? Would you

1. wear the same suit

or

2. wear a less dressy pair of black pants and button down shirt that is a bit too big with no jacket

Wear the suit, different shirt/shoes/hair/ and earrings. Or just wear the pants and cardigan instead of the jacket.

Wear the same suit. You look professional, that's all that matters. They are hiring you, not your clothes. A hiring manager that says " She would be a perfect fit for the department. Too bad we can't hire her because she wore the same suit in her first interview." is not a manager I would want to work for.

Wear the same suit and don't give it another thought!

I think it's unreasonable to expect people who do not wear suits often for work to have more than one suit. Some people don't even own a single suit.

Wearing the same suit again is perfectly acceptable in my opinion- it's what I would have to do.

I second wearing a different shirt with it if possible- if not don't sweat it. I have a horrible memory when it comes to what people are wearing.

Good luck!

Yeah, the person who may be hiring you is totally going to say, "We can't hire her, she's worn the same suit to this interview as she did the first!"

Same suit, different top and accessories. No one will notice; if they do notice, they won't care. They're hiring you, not your suit.

Thank you, everyone! I am considering wearing the same skirt, new blouse , and a sweater instead of the blazer. Is that dressy enough? If not I'll wear the same suit. I feel better knowing it's not that unheard of. I'm so used to scrubs! I hate dressing up! I have no sense of style at all.

i was wondering about you experienced nurses, how do you do your hair?

It doesn't matter how you wear your hair, Betmig.

Just do not, and I repeat, do not wear the same blue suit twice to an interview!

This does sound like it would be different enough. Do you have different shoes? If so, you could also wear different shoes.

I don't hire people, but I've been in some peer interviews. I do think a suit looks better but the only thing that really has stuck out to me has been when people wear hooker shoes. I've seen two now wearing inappropriate shoes. One had ribbons that tied up her legs and the other had spiked stilettos that she had trouble walking in. Both were mentioned and discussed after when we were giving opinions, not by me. I noticed but wouldn't have said anything. So nothing super stand out ish.
