New Grad, New City : No Diversity

Ok, I currently live on the east coast and a lot of new grads are having problems with finding a jobs. I've come to realize that I have to be willing to move out of state to get a job. The issue is, I really had my heart set on NYC at first, but now I've realized that I have a pretty slim chance of getting a job there. My only issue with moving is after 10 years of living in the suburbs, I can't see myself moving back to another suburb or city where there is NO diversity! I'm looking all over the country and I'm finding a lot of hospitals that are willing to hire new grads, but I worry about the lack of diversity. I guess my question is, should I even care about diversity? Also, I'm in my early twenties. I don't want to live in a city catered just to families. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am not sure exactly what sort of diversity you are thinking of .

I get the impression that you are not looking for a suburban location where most of the people you meet are married and middle class.

Look into college towns where there are med schools. The populations there are diverse, with lots of people from different places.

Why not look somewhere with minimal diversity and add to the diversity in the area?
