This is a day of celebration for our nation. It is a sad day for my family. Our beautiful dog, Sophie is with her maker now. I found her 11 years ago on the side of the road, she fit right in and had been a wonderful part of our family since. I mourn her passing, and I cherish the memories. Just wanted to share with the extended family. :o

I'm so sorry for your loss. So hard and rotten to lose a part of the family.

Love

I can relate to your pain for I lost my dear precious companion in November and the pain is still as real today as it was then. They say it gets easier but I keep wondering when it will start. I have two other babies and my Jack Russell has taken on so many of Cookie's traits, like she is trying to plead with me to love her that much too. Cookie will always be my baby but I can find some comfort in holding and loving my other babies and I hope you too have another precious one you can turn to. They can never be replaced for each one has their own place in our hearts but loving again means that what you had was so special, you cannot exist without that little pal that never tells your secrets, never whines when you don't keep your word and they don't care if you never bath cause they love you anyways. If you do not have another friend, you will know when the time is right and then God will send you the perfect little one to make your heart smile again. I am sending you a hug for I know this is a pain that goes deep and takes a long time to mend. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

So sorry about the loss of Sophie. I've been there, and know how you feel.

And I understand how you must feel...that is a tough thing to go through..:o I'm very sorry for you and your family. May Sophie rest in peace. For once I'm at a lost for words..:o

My love and prayers go out to you and your family on the loss of your precious friend, Sophie. I can truly say that I have been in the same place more times than you can imagine. Each time the pain is unbearable; but, the time will come when you can look back on all the beautiful memories you made together. Until that time, please take care of yourself, and know that Sophie is at peace in a beautiful place.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, too, and I tear up at the thought of your loss. Our menagerie, too, is so precious to us - each one so different and uniquely themselves and yet OURS. We know that some day in this "real" world, we will lose our precious ones, but by golly they are gonna get the very best of love and attention and care while they are with us = NO REGRETS!! for having loved them, and as others have posted, getting that unconditional love from them. Bless you, and go ahead and grieve and mourn. Wish we could do more for you. --- D

all the thoughts above express it so well

Thinking of you and of my own,

both gone and still with me - they only ever on loan

I'm so sorry :(

I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie! This is going to be tough for awhile. What a joy pets are! Some of them we spend more time with than family.

Dawn, so sorry for the loss of Sophie. I lost a fantastic German Shephard a few years ago and went to the pound a couple of months later and have the funniest dog I have ever had in my life. She makes me laugh every single day(chases telephone poles as we drive by them-my vet still shakes his head at that one)! You will get thru this. Took me a while after Casey died to be able to talk about her without choking up, but now I can talk and laugh about some of her stunts too (chasing helicopters while walking on the beach!) Another great dog will come into your life again, whether you go out looking or, like Sophie, he or she finds you. She found you for a reason you know...she knew you are a wonderful person.

Take care, it will get better...
