Morning sickness
I have used crystallized ginger for nausea, and it does well. Know a nurse who swore by "Sea Bands" for morning sickness. They may be worth a try.

I snapped
Bravo sundowner----it amazes me that more nurses don't snap with all of the abuse being dished out. After all, we ARE human. Maybe I have no right to be voicing my opinion, but I had to leave nursing 7 years ago after sustaining injuries to my hand and then to my back and knee two weeks later (while working on a high risk psychiatric unit). When I was backed into a corner and threatened with a serious injury, that was the last straw for me. As depressed as I felt over having to leave the profession I had loved and practiced since 1966, after reading some of the posts on these threads, maybe it was better that I couldn't return to nursing. Sorry that sentence was so long, but I think you all know where I am coming from. Do I miss it? You bet I do. I truly feel sorry for the nurses of today, and admire all of you for hanging in there. :)

LDRP or LDR? What are the pros and cons?
Things have REALLY changed since I worked in LD, and PP back in 1966 (straight out of nursing school). Then you went from a dingy LR into a DR; 90% of patients had general anesthesia, and then you were transferred to PP. At least when I delivered my first daughter, they had started allowing the husband in LD and gave epidurals. That was called progress. :) When my daughter delivered her baby in 2000, she had LDRP--beautiful large room, brightly decorated. She was in labor for a long time and developed pre-eclampsia. They did allow her husband and I both to stay with her throughout the 14 hours she was in labor. We both assisted her when it was time to push. Seeing my granddaughter born was more exciting than having my own children. If I were able to return to OB, I would prefer to do Mother/Baby after delivery. Moms are in for such a short time, but there is alot of teaching that can be done---especially for first-time Moms. As I said in the beginning, times have changed definitely for the better :p

Average doseage of conscious sedation while doing endoscopy's
I have had 4 colonoscopies in the last 4 years, and can only remember one time when I felt a fair amount of discomfort. Thankfully, my GI doctor is a very caring and compassionate lady who takes her time and listens to my concerns. Am very sorry to hear that you had so much pain with your scope. Be sure and let you doctor know that you were displeased. I recently had surgery under local anesthesia with hypnosis, and that worked beautifully. This week I had a root canal and used hypnosis alone. That. too, was a complete success. The next time I am scheduled for a c-scope, I'll also use hypnosis. Don't give up on having scopes--they can save your life by screening for colon cancer.:) :)
