This is a day of celebration for our nation. It is a sad day for my family. Our beautiful dog, Sophie is with her maker now. I found her 11 years ago on the side of the road, she fit right in and had been a wonderful part of our family since. I mourn her passing, and I cherish the memories. Just wanted to share with the extended family. :o

I'm so sorry for your loss. Please visit the website http://www.petloss.com/ and check out the story of the rainbow bridge.

I am so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I felt the same way, when my best friend killed himself in 1989. Today, I am still sad when I think about it because I was trying to get him on the phone that same day and I could not and maybe if I was determined to talk to him, he would not have killed himself at work.

I feel your pain bandaidexpert, I wish I could cry your tears. I know you are hurting but think about the treasured memories that Sophia has left behind.

Hush!!!!!!!

I feel your

My condolences. Pets are such a blessing, and perhaps bring the closest to unconditional love many of us will experience this side of heaven. You have a four-legged guardian angel watching over you from the Rainbow Bridge now.

Hot lips - what a lovely site - l will tell my friend who prefers animals most of the time to people - she will love this site

bandaidexpert , So sorry for your loss. Just today my baby passed away. Her name was Kate . She was the most loved cat for the past 14 years. I bottle fed her as a kitten ,after her mother died when she was born.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I understand what you are feeling. My cat died a few years and I still miss my fiesty tabby. Only pet owners understand the love we have for our babies. My best wishes for you. God bless.

Dear bandaidexpert,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Pets are truly very special beings. Where else can you find unconditional love. In keeping with the nursing theme, you could possibly need some grief couseling. I have viewed some wonderful internet pages on pet loss grieving. Have a box of tissues in hand and try these sites out. They will help you feel better. Try a search on pet loss or pet grief or rainbow bridge.com. There is one site that has a candle light ceremony once a week and you can post your pets name there. I hope this helps and feel free to contact me if you just need to purge. Believe me I have been though this too.

Our pets are SOOO special to us!! Four years ago we lost "Rosie," one of three cats. Rosie used to snuggle under the covers with me for oh,say, the first five min. after I got into bed, then get out. The first night after she died, as I crawled into bed, a four-month-old kitten we had at the time jumped up on the bed with me. She had never done THAT before! Then she proceeded to snuggle under the covers, just as Rosie had done. Of course, I petted her the whole time she was with me, as I'd done with Rosie. She crawled out after about five minutes and then went on her way. That was the one and only time she had or has ever gotten under the covers like that. I can't help thinking she was trying to comfort me, in her own way. There's so much we don't know/can't understand about our wondrous pets. I'm anxious for heaven, where we can ask about all these things (and see our pets again . . .now, that's another thread, for speculation only!)

I am so sorry that you lost your friend. Our pets love us no matter what, and always remain faithful to us, no matter what the world does to us. We lost one of our dogs a few months ago, and hubby still keeps her dish in its spot with food in it for her.
