For Fun - Things You Want to Buy Once You're a Nurse

Published

Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?

For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:

I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.

So what do you all want to buy?

Pay off these student loans first, move to Colorado, buy a house with 5 acres surrounded by mountains, then horses for my family and I to de-stress with and just be able to enjoy life more!

Colorado is full stay out!^^^^^

Just kidding, I love this state. We have to say that to everyone.

lol, I hear ya. My husband and I are from Washington state and we lived in the mountains there before moving to TX. We both really miss the mountains and the hiking - and Colorado just looks beautiful.

I lived in Washington and moved to CO 3.5 years ago. :p I used to live in Tx too and a few other states, WA was the longest place I ever lived.

I would love to get a Chevy Camaro with the Corvette engine. I just got accepted, so we'll have to see on that one. We can't splurge too much 'cause my husband is starting radiology school when I'm in my last year. Probably, buy some land to start building our dream house on. Our $200K house is going on the market this summer to pay cash for a doublewide to live in while we're in school.

Once I start working...ahh...!

A beautiful, frivolous Coach purse, just for me because I earned it. All those sleepless nights prepping for clinical, and days spent with my nose in the books and/or laptop...it's time to party! :D

Some paint so I can redo our living room, and make our house into a real home. We've put so many things off since we've been saving for school.

Lots of dog treats for our new puppy.

Seriously, lunch out with my whole family, because they've been incredibly supportive. I've been blessed.

A brand new camaro:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

glasses, dentist, new clothes, bills paid, food, gas, and maybe a little fun.

I'm only doing my prereqs now (starting nursing school in Jan 2011) so this list is a bit premature. Oh well =)

1. Chanel 2.55 handbag, Marc Jacobs Blake handbag, Lanvin flats, True Religion skinny jeans

2. The bestest fastest Alienware setup EVER.

The next few are things I'd like t

3. LASIK!!! I'll be 24 by then, my eyes HAVE to be done changing by then!

4. An apartment (a small one... I like small spaces haha!)

5. Some kind of a car-like/shaped thing that gets me places.

Well, I've been licensed for 11 months now, and I haven't gotten the things I posted here (smart fortwo, camper, pet dinosaur :D) but I have been doing nice things for myself. I'm going to a salon for haircuts instead of the $10 shop, and getting massages every 4-5 weeks to help relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders. Other than that, we're paying down our debt slowly but surely.

ahh yes...

just purchased a new Corvette Convertible (weekend car) and Cadillac CTS-V (daily driver) great feeling to have funds again=):)
