For Fun - Things You Want to Buy Once You're a Nurse

Published

Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?

For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:

I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.

So what do you all want to buy?

I want to save up for a substantial down payment for a house.

Hopefully Honda comes out with a hybrid 4-wheeler, because I will definitely buy that. I had to give up my Civic hybrid to get a CR-V for the weather where I live.

If iPad improves and becomes more than just an oversized iPhone, I want it.

When I graduate, I want to get myself a Littman sthethoscope.

Someday...

hahahahah... I get it.

The only things I want is my own apartment, an exercise bike and a tredmill for my apartment, unless I live in one of those apartments with a gym inside. That's all I can really think of. Then just pay off my student loans and stuff. I have no interest to drive.

I want to go on a really nice, long vacation that I plan to book the day I find out that I passed my NCLEX.

I want to pay off the car that I already have (I will have this done within a year of graduation).

I am going to save up some money to go back to school and get a master's degree.

My first years worth of paychecks will be put into savings to build an addition on our home. Right now that is the only thing I want! :)

Good thread revival.

I want to get a new car and convince my gf to move in with me. Then I want to get rid of all my crappy college furniture and get nice new things.

Get rid of all the crappy college furniture first and it will up your odds of the GF moving in :p

A piece of land somewhere really quiet and rural, perhaps a mountaintop in WV. Or even better, a vacation cottage.

A small-but-reliable motor home.

And the hot tub idea sounds great, too! :yeah:

Both very nice!!!!! My dream house would be in rolling green hills on a lot of land and a creek running through the back, well secluded with all the big stores within an hour drive, of course I would need the smaller things you need more often closer. Anyway, someday!

I will take my daughter to Disneyworld, and save up to buy us a house. I cannot wait to contribute to my family. :)

OK, I started this thread a while back. I bought the Dyson. I decided Bobbi Brown blush is better than NARS and got some of those. I'm not buying the Mini Cooper - I'm going to drive my rust bucket until it falls apart. I don't like debt.

She and I both agreed she gets full creative control of decorating. The only thing i get say in is the bed and tv ha ha. Gotta love her.

Nice furniture. Nice clothes. I think I'm down to scrubs.....scrubs.....random pair of jeans....scrubs....ooh, a t shirt...and scrubs. A full set of MAC makeup. A full day at a spa. A Coach bag! I can't justify spending much on extra stuff while living on a PCA's "salary."

In a perfect world, the economy will be kind and there will be new grad programs somewhere in So Cal for me. Really all I want to do is pack a suitcase of clothes, a trunk of belongings, my cat, and leave Ohio for sunnier shores. Moving to the west coast will be a lot easier without furniture LOL

Dear Cali, you've got till about March to show me some love! 3 more terms till graduation and less than a year till NCLEX! :yeah:

Wow....it feels really good to actually say that.
