For Fun - Things You Want to Buy Once You're a Nurse

Published

Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?

For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:

I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.

So what do you all want to buy?

Must be a guy thing. Ive always wanted a t-rex growing up.

Actually this will be better, but Ill take what I can get.

Ha ....ha... My son is 3.5 yrs old and he has lots of T- rexes and other dinos. But every time when we go to Walmart he takes me see some ("cool toys"- in his own words) and asks me to buy those BIG toy cars that they can drive all by themselves.($250). Well ....(sigh)...... I tell him if we buy them we will not have enough room in our apartment to live. Therefore I like to buy a house of my own and one of those BIG cars for him. But since I'm not in the Nursing program yet ,by the time I graduate and ready to buy a car for him he will be nearly 8 yrs old. So sad ....he will probably have lost his interest and will be too big for that car :(

Lord willing, I would like to have our house paid off within 5 years of working as a nurse. Not very "fun", but I would be on top of the world. :dncgbby:

Then, for fun I would treat my family to a cruise!

All the above mentioned, yes including the dinosaur ;)

After all what's life without a T-Rex running around the back yard and eating you out of house and home  literally!

all I want to do is to be able to pay my monthly bills and have more then 5 dollars left on the end of the month...! repay who I owe and save for my masters

Two tickets to paradise....one-way, of course.

And yes, I just quoted that horrible Eddie Money song. ;)

Actually contribute to the college fund I started for my niece 5 years ago.

I've always driven POS throwaway cars that I paid for in cash, and my husband and I were planning on waiting until about 6mo after I graduate (in May!) to buy something newer and nicer.

That plan was scrapped when my 1998 Chevy Blazer blew a head gasket at 210K miles, so last week we went and purchased a Nissan Murano :yeah: I will start drawing a paycheck on June 1st, so we'll have to make the first payment without my income, but it should be golden after that! I'm in love with it :redbeathe:lol2:

An RV. I am sick and tired of sitting at home studying and the world is passing me by. If I have an RN, I could take my books with me and change the scenery..even though my nose is in the books. An RV would allow me to pack up and explore on my free days. Suppose I am getting cabin fever.

I think I will buy myself an iPad as a graduation gift

I want to take my family on a vacation to Hawaii!

A place to live. A car.

I don't start NS till May....but i can't wait to graduate and pay for a wedding!!:D My boyfriend and I have talked about getting married for a long time but don't have the money for it yet, so that will be up first! A house would be nice too...now I'm really dreaming!

Meeee too! That's the first thing on my list after paying off our minimal debt so we can start a debt-free life before getting that biggest debt of all, a house!
