Okay... so I totally hijacked the Spring 09 hopefuls thread. But, it was a good idea.
This thread is for those of us that are aiming to start NS in Fall 09. Hopefully, we can keep this thread alive over the next year through all the craziness of pre-reqs, applying, and preparing for nursing school.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY ONE YEAR AWAY!!!!
Anywho...

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?
When is your schools deadline?
When does the acceptance letters go out?

Ahaha! that's my plan B too! This is my first time applying to NS and I really don't feel confident that I'll get in. My GPA is only about 3.3... and I don't have that much experience right now. I also have a BS in another field so I'm applying to the Entry-level MSN programs University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, and Samuel Merritt. Hardly think I'll get into any of them though...so I'll probably end up finding a job that I hate because it's not nursing.

Water83,
I TOTALLY hear you!!!
I picked up my application on Monday Sept 29th for the Fall 2009 program and mailed it by Oct 2nd! (Keep in mind they aren't even due until Dec 1st).... my school takes FOREVER to notify you if you get in.
Be glad you only wait until Feb... my wait is until late April!!! I'm STILL waiting to hear if I got in for their Spring 09 semester, but I figured I should apply for Fall 09 anyway just in case.
Good luck!!!
ps- I wish my school had an online "status" I could check often.
Where are you applying?] Mt. Saint Mary's College - ADN Generic Option
What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? ]As of currently I do not have an applicable GPA. I'm starting my pre-reqs to get in during winter quarter. I'm taking a huge risk, but it does not hurt to try.
When is your schools deadline?] March 1
When does the acceptance letters go out? ]Sometime in June.
What is your plan A, B, C...?]A = Get into MSMC.
B = Either finish more Pre-reqs and apply again, or try to get into a local LVN program so I can bridge later on.
C = Just gotta keep trying A and B, every program in CA is impacted so I need to keep trying.
I'm applying to (in preferential order) Seattle U, Gonzaga, PLU & Lindfield.
None of these schools do points for most of them the overall GPA req is 3.0 and major pre-req of 2.5 (of course you have to have higher than that to be accepted)
All the applications are due in Jan-Feb I'm not sure when letters go out.
I only have plan A! It WILL happen!
I can't wait to apply, it feels like it's been forever! Me in 2011 ------>

I bought these amazing flashcards from the local Borders. I brought it to class to go over (I always get to class early to avoid parking problems) and no joke, like six people came up to me to ask where I bought them from. I also go over the optional book for the lab portion. Its called the photographic atlas of anatomy and physiology. It's truly amazing. it has all the bone markings as well.
