Fall 09 hopefuls?

Okay... so I totally hijacked the Spring 09 hopefuls thread. But, it was a good idea.
This thread is for those of us that are aiming to start NS in Fall 09. Hopefully, we can keep this thread alive over the next year through all the craziness of pre-reqs, applying, and preparing for nursing school.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY ONE YEAR AWAY!!!!
Anywho...
Where are you applying?
What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?
When is your schools deadline?
When does the acceptance letters go out?
What is your plan A, B, C...?

I am applying to APU School of Nursing in hopes to come out with my BSN in approx 2 and 1/2 years

My current GPA is like 2.9 it dropped because i slacked off in spring 08 but i need a 3.0 to get into my NS

My deadline to apply for fall 2009 is end of january

You can only get accepted by completing all the pre-req. I believe the NS takes "courses in progress" i am pretty sure (hell they better because i am not waiting any longer!!!!) so since i am doing anatomy and organic chem in spring 2009 and physio in summer and i think the second summer session i will take biochem or micro or something, so i should know after that.

i do not have a plan b bcause nursing was my plan b and for c...i will die....jk try again of course!!!

Where are you applying? Northern Virginia Community College and maybe George Mason for second degree BSN

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? I don't have one yet!!! But my g.p.a for B.F.A was 3.0

When is your schools deadline? Checklist is May 27 and then application sometime in June

When does the acceptance letters go out? July....I'm not sure.

What is your plan A, B, C...?

This is my plan A,B,C....I'm going to make it work!!!

Hi everyone, great thread! I am *hoping* to be accepted into nursing school in the fall of 09 too. I will be going to Northern Virginia Community College. I'm starting my pre-req's this fall...actually it's like 3 weeks away! It's starting to feel a little more real now.

Holy crap!! I live in NoVA too...

Hey I'm starting at Fox Valley Tech college in wisconsin for my gen eds in the winter!

I need to maintain a C average

This is my plan B! I can't wait to start. I was a CNA and then quit because I couldn't take the LTC politics and felt like a dime a dozen. I needed to change, and came to a cube job. Now I figured out that I hate it,and instead of just complaining, going back to become an RN. :wink2:

I applied for Spring 09 and got my letter today. I didn't get in, but I am ranked third on the alternate list. On one hand, third sounds great because it's only two spots away from 1! But on the other hand, that means THREE PEOPLE have to deny acceptance for whatever reason, and that seems like A LOT to me....

So... I guess right now I am an alternate hopeful LOL / Fall 09 hopeful. :stone

3 might sound like alot but you might be surprised. But how excruciating to have to wait!!!!! I really feel for you. Keep us updated.

Well I got my grade back in Micro. At first I had an 89 but then after the discussion of the test 2 of the questions that I missed were thrown out and so I was given a 91!!!!

On my lecture test in A&P II I got a 92. We are supposed to go over the test today to make sure the scantrons are correct. I also have my lab practical today but I think I am ready but we will see.

I am afraid that the class for Fall 2009 is going to be a tough one to get into. Last semester I heard that 25 points out of the 30 were needed to get in. However, just 2 semesters ago the lowest needed was 17!! It all depends on how well everyone else has done and I feel that this group is going to be above average.

Hi am applying for the Fall of '09 also.

I am applying at Pearl River Community College

Really don't know about point system.

Deadline is Apr. 1st for the fall.

Also hane to take the PAX- RN entrance exam.

Plan B applying for LPN program also, but really want the RN program so pray for me!!:yeahthat:

Ugh! That's what everyone is telling me... but thanks for the support! What sucks is, if the deadline had been 2 weeks later, I would have had my second session summer school grades in (3 classes!) and my GPA would have been a whole point higher... 3.21 to a 3.31! And I heard today the lowest they accepted was a 3.3! Which makes it even MORE frustrating!

One of my Mom's friends told me yesterday that her niece applied to law school and didn't get in, wasn't even an alternate, and she wrote the school a letter professing her love and passion for it and they accepted her that same semester.... so I'm going to try that, and point out that my GPA is a 3.31 NOW. I don't know how well it will work, but it's worth a shot! I really thought I was going to get in, I even bought the ultimate cliche... a sexy nurse costume for Halloween! LOL now what?!

Hey all,

I'm with you for the Fall 09 Hopefuls!

~ I am applying (applied actually) to Palm Beach Atlantic Univ in SF which is where I have been taking my pre-reqs for a year and a half

~ Our school doesn't really have a "system" at all. There are several things you have to have (like a 3.0 GPA and 60% TEAS), but after that the application committee picks subjectively...

~ The deadline is Oct. 1 but I have already gotten all my stuff in

~ The app committee meets on the 3rd and we should have our letters within a week, hopefully! (which basically means I will know if I get in in about 2 weeks!! I can't wait...)

~ There is no Plan B or C. I have never thought about if I don't get in and I praying that I don't have to!!
