  1. me!!! my application will be in the mail on thursday for spring 2010 quarter. i have to polish up my essay, which is giving me major anxiety :typing i'm just sooo nervous about the essay, it's probably the most important paper i've written. good luck to everyone! :yelclap:
  2. Good luck! Some schools don't rely so very heavily on grades and will take into consideration all aspects of your application. Whereas some do weight the gpa more. All of your volunteer experience is stellar! :yelclap:
  3. We don't have to dissect cats. We had to dissect sheep brains and eyes, but we don't get points for lab, so I just left and didn't do it. I didn't read all the responses so I'm sure someone may have said this... but I would talk to your professor and see if there's anything else you can do. If you do get points for lab participation maybe you can work something else out... or if you can afford to, just loose the points altogether. I personally just couldn't dissect an animal.
  4. I was informed that the PTA program at my school had significantly less applicants this year, and someone accounted that to the poor economy. What's your opinion? I've heard that a poor economy causes an increase in students. But I can also see how it could cause less students. If people can't afford to cut back on work to attend school, it would make sense for nursing programs to experience a lower # of applicants. Thoughts? What have you heard?
  5. We have a degree like that at several community colleges in Washington. The AA degree is suppose to "waive" or fulfill the general/core requirements of 4 year Universities that you could transfer too. However (at least here) you still must meet all of the nursing pre-requisites for the Uni you want to attend. Does that make sense? I would look up the websites of nursing program you want to transfer too and check to see if you've met their requirements. You can also meet with an advisor at your current school, but I would highly recommend you meet with an advsor of the Uni you want to transfer to. Good luck!!!
  6. I'm applying to (in preferential order) Seattle U, Gonzaga, PLU & Lindfield. None of these schools do points for most of them the overall GPA req is 3.0 and major pre-req of 2.5 (of course you have to have higher than that to be accepted) All the applications are due in Jan-Feb I'm not sure when letters go out. I only have plan A! It WILL happen! I can't wait to apply, it feels like it's been forever! Me in 2011 ------>
  7. If a patient's POA is making health care decisions for them I don't think they'd be eligible for the "death with dignity" law anyways, right?
  8. I'm pretty sure Algebra is a pre-req for statistics. Even so, I don't think only taking stats would fulfill the algebra requirement, it's like apples and oranges, even if one is a higher course number they're different subjects. I'm in stats atm... and it's really not that bad & I hate math! Good luck with whatever you end up doing!
