Ever know someone who has a major crush on a doctor?
Then you have to be extra nice to all the doctors so it's not so obvious that your so nice to your crush doctor. Then your co-workers name 6 other doctors that they think you have a crush on!
Someone else was supposed to be on call one day, I was in a hurry, didn't do a thing with my hair or makeup, then I saw him! (Yikes) So now I watch carefully what I wear, and make up and hair everyday. I've also lost weight. And since both he and I are married, it kinda works for my husband. My husband likes that I do my hair and make up, lost weight, etc. Then I come home and I'm lovey dovey with my husband.
Both my crush doctor and I are both married with kids at home. I would never cheat - you can never take that back. I would never be able to break up 2 families. If my crush doctor ever attempted to cheat on his wife with me, it would kill that whole crush and I would be disgusted with him. (Which I'm sure he'd never do - which adds to his wonderfulness *sigh*)
I dont think I would want to ever date my OB, even if he was goodlooking. I mean this is a person who sees EVERYTHING, up close and personal. *shudders* I couldnt even act flirty with someone who put me in stir-ups with a light and shoving something vey up der!
icky
My husband used to tease me that I always wanted to get pregnant so I could go see my OB. He is only a couple of years older than I am, and he is terribly goodlooking! It really wigged me out at first, but I worked postpartum at the hospital, so as time went on, he just kind of became a big brother type.
Humm, some really interesting residents that I took a liking to in the past but none I could say I had a crush on. Never dated a doc, they dont have the time. Would I date a doc, maybe if they had the time.
There is one divorced middle aged doc that is VERY nice to look at. He is so moody though you know why he is divorced. If he is looking for another partner in life it would just be for a free nanny for the kids.
And yes a mild crush on one doc who is kinda out of the ordinary, a more creative person but married so the fantasy is only that. Raced motorcycles when he was younger, was the doc for a Mt Everest trek, skis in Utah. A spontaneous kinda person with a commitment also, so a kid at heart but responsible too. A doc that lives life to its fullest. Also plays guitar in a band and has his own website for medical stuff kinda like a saturday night live medical web site that sparks the minds of those who frequent it.
In 1969, when I was 3 I leaned back in my chair and lo and behold, just like my mom(and yours) always said, I tipped backwards and hit my head. .
The ER Doc on that night held me in his arm while he smoked in the corridor of the ER and said to me....."Want a puff, tiger?" I felt as the 4th kid of 5 in a crazy (in a good way) household like someone really saw me.
::sigh:: He's why I became a Nurse....Well, he and Mrs. Murry but that's another story.. :)
I had a crush once on a female orthopedic surgeon. She was very attractive on the outside, but an inspiration on the inside too. I admired her because she had gone into medicine late in life and was 36 before she qualified, and was a nurse before that. She was intelligent and funny and very personable which made her even more attractive. She was married though...damn waste of a fine woman lol :chuckle
I never had any crush on any doctor anywhere at anytime for the record:) . It is not that I am frigid or something but basically they are not my cup of tea. ( I really don't want to elaborate on that:imbar ....)
Anyway, most of the people I know who have crushes on doctors are based on the fact that these doctors are considerate, a pure gentleman and sees a nurse as an individual and a member of the team rather than a handy all around assistant. Physical looks is also an initial factor for attraction but not a major X factor.
Yeah, I don't think his wife and four kids would have cared for me if I wanted to date him! :chuckle And I have to agree with you, I think the whole legs in stirrups thing would somehow dampen any attempt at flirting!!
