  1. Phelbotomy is different. They do that. Here in my school we dont (ADN) stick each other. Although all my instructors did when they were in school. And as far as fighting it, again I wouldnt rock the boat. JMHO
  2. LoL if you wish. But in my class we had to pick same sex partners. But it isnt a huge deal since no one gets nude. So I can see how some schools wouldnt care either way. Its a good experience and it isnt so bad. Also you dont usually do it on the first day. So you have a chance to get to know someone better and it isnt so bad, after all you all have to do it. No biggy. I would fear "bed making" more. It was such a huge issue and so critical. Had nightmare over being tested on something so stupid. But its all about the hoops baby.
  3. I have seen this too and agree with the boot camp thingy. We had many "rebel" students try to change exam questions, stating they were too hard, well DUH do you not think they are hard for a reason? Do you think the NCLEX is a cake walk? I swear people think if they b*tch long and hard enough they can change the whole system, and in reality, it is hurting them more than helping them. I have seen people run right out of nursing school for not conforming with the rules or not doing a good job or just plain having attitude, and talking sh*t instead of learning and going through the motions. Most I wouldnt have wanted to be my nurse, so I guess it is a good thing. But you never want to stick out like a sore thumb, no tin school any way. leave that for a time when you have to be a pt avocate, or some other necessity in the field.
  4. How long ago? Most schools I have heard do not for the same reasons. Your school, while its good you got to practice on real people before going to the hospital, but the practice itself is scarey for the schools safety.
  5. LoL if you act inappropriatley then you would get the big ol boot. Privacy is maintained and no one does peri care so it really isnt a biggy if you have shorts and a tank, or a bathing suit. Of course no one can force you to do anything but fighting it just puts a huge target on your head. Sure you can b*tch moan and kick your feet, but I wouldnt. Its been done a long time and its not like ou have to show your privates. Besides your partner feels awkward about it too. But, it does teach you and you do get a back rub. And you feel what patients feel, only you dont have to show your "stuff" as they do. I just wouldnt pick a partner who had a great physical shape and you didnt. hehe I would pick someone whom I could feel more comfortable with.
  6. Thankfully they wont let you practice or make pin cushions out of each other. HIV/hep A-Z stopped that.
  7. I heard about the review classes and that they are long and comprehensive. I heard its like taking the RN program but cramming all the info you learned in 2 years into 4 days. Some you will recall, some you wont remember very well, but know you did go over it vaguely. Some of the info your instructors might have missed, or went through too fast. I have heard of people who passed with out it and others who say they learned a lot from it. But I havent heard of anyone who took it that failed the NCLEX, so I'm crossing my fingers.
  8. Hahah I recall being as frightened about this as you but most just wore shorts and some daring ones wore a bathing suit. We had the curtains drawn and most of us knew someone from our prereqs that we felt comfortable enough with. Also it was stated no m/f groups. It was not as big of a deal as we thought. You dont have to wear underwear if you dont want.
  9. They all (the rooms) look the same with the lights off at night. But I hate those pts who will ask to be waited on hand and foot,( like the woman who got up to come to the nurses station for EVERYTHING yet asked for a diaper, wth for? During the day when your roamiing the halls? She was up and able to get to the restroom, could call you to tell you she had to go or went and to measure it. But wanted a diaper..) also those who are on their call light every 30 seconds, who want EVERYTHING YESTERDAY. You know those who actually call teh hospital and get the nunrses station to ask for something because you didnt make it quick enough to their call light.
  10. How about "someones sugar daddy" hehe Personally I loved my anestesiologist, And everytime I had surgery was before school and I didnt ask credentials being out side of field. I just knew they gave me some good S$%# and I love them for it
  11. You cant prove anyone is a relative. Besides what if the one relative calls whom they dont want to know. The nurses at our hospital just pass the call to the room and let the pt answer their questions politely telling them they cant give out that info.
  12. Speaking off odd I once heard the oddest thing ever sold or placed on ebay was belly button lint, frickin sickos
  13. Hmm good idea, something to sell that can be high profile....or funny.. that people would ACTUALLY BUY...
  14. I know you loved the mullet!
