  1. We are looking for some kind of nifty sheet or form that we can use with our new grads to help them learn to give report in a thorough and timely fashion...anyone out there have one so we don't have to reinvent the wheel? Thanks a million in advance.
  2. Started a new job working 3 12's a week....I've been told that I will do 3 12's in a row every other week. What do you think about that? I am so exhausted after 2 days in a row that I don't think I can do it....just need some opinions on this....thanks!
  3. Just when I give you guys a compliment you hide from me! Help me out here please!
  4. I'm impressed. Thanks for putting my own feelings into words better than I could.
  5. You guys are great! Everytime I ask questions, I get terrific answers. So, another question....I will be starting on my unit in 3 weeks. I've been a nurse for 13 years, but the last 8 out of the hospital. (Before you panic, I'm still VERY current...) My question is this. If you could say one (or 2 or 3...) things to a nurse (not a new grad) coming to your floor for the first time, what would it be? (She wants to do a great job and get along with everyone..blah, blah, blah.) Thanks a million!
  6. I have to agree totally....what if there were some kind of (heaven forbid) legal issue that came out later? Also, it's kind of like once someone tells you something personal they sometimes regret it later....same kind of thing. I'd just be a friend in this situation. My opinion only.
  7. Thank you all for your great responses? I just hope I can remember all their names? :)
  8. That brings up a question...how long do they stay?
  9. I will be starting a new job at a teaching hospital and have never worked with interns. They have just hired a ton of new ones. Will you give me some pointers on how best to work with them/what I can expect? Thanks a million in advance.
  10. Too funny! I can just see this actually happening....
  11. That was great! Thanks.
  12. Absolutely! Remember, that the best way to get really good at something is to teach it someone else. You might be surprised at what good it will do you too. Best of luck.
  13. There are special suites where the family can stay in their own cozy beds...I really appreciate all of your responses....I guess for myself I don't have a problem with the concept; I just get sensitive about the way people think of nurses and don't want any more negative images....it's also my understanding in our hospital that the nurses take care of only those patients; they don't "cross over" to the other side..:)
