QuoteAn Alabama doctor announced he would not treat patients who refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19 ...

OMG the irony. Thanks for the laugh. I truly needed it today.
Not just ironic, I flat-out don’t believe it. Do you want another anecdote? Ongoing testing of staff and residents in my LTC showed we were Covid-free until October, 2020. One worker went out of state on vacation, neglected to quarantine or be tested on return (as required by both facility and state policy). She then chose to come to work while symptomatic (she lied on temp screening form). By the end of November, all of our residents and 2/3 of our staff were positive. Almost half our residents were dead by Christmas.
Nope, don’t buy that poster’s story at all.

Wow, that is awful. Did the worker take any responsibility for this or feel any remorse at all?

When I had COVID but only lost taste and smell I had never coughed and no one for it from me. Consider it my own anecdotal evidence. Yes I said it ANECDOTAL evidence!! If you don’t believe in it open your eyes, read spontaneous healing. I know you won't cuz you strike me as the person who thinks they know everything. But try and be open minded.
Baloney. I don't believe a syllable of that comment.

You have no way of knowing that no one got COVID from you while you had it. You can only know that none of your acquaintances got symptomatic Covid from you. If you infected someone in your circle who was asymptomatic, you wouldn't know about that, would you? And that asymptomatic person might have passed it on to someone else who became very sick and/or died.
See how contagious respiratory viruses work?
Ugh, veganista, I wish you would choose a different screen name. As a fellow vegan, I think you're making us look bad. Anecdotalism is not evidence and shouldn't come into play when discussing science. Nurses learn this in school. Even your own anecdotal story contradicts itself. Frankly, some of your comments make me sad. I wish you well though.

You treat the homeless guy who refuses to get a job and doesn’t have insurance, you treat the smoker for lung cancer, the obese heart patient…why is this any different? Those patients made choices as well. I don’t approve of transgenderism but I still treat those patients just as I would anyone else. People in medicine have become heartless and forget that people have a choice as to what they put in their body. The comments people leave In Regards to one choosing not to get vaccinated are so cruel and heartless. Makes me lose faith in humanity. Personally I’d rather care for an unvaccinated patient sick with COVID than one who was vaccinated and then hospitalized with COVID.
SIGH-----once AGAIN, the homeless noncompliant patient is NOT a danger to others as a rule. Transgender? ARE you KIDDING? That is no comparision! They are born that way, not deciding they want to be that way.......
Unvaccinated people are a danger to others . Their decision not to vax affects many others who have no choice in this.
What is cruel and heartless is this disease itself. Many don't believe in it, but trust me it believes in THEM.

Are you suggesting unvaccinated people are the only ones on this planet a danger to others?
How many of us had the homeless patients with HIV and other communicable diseases. Respiratory included!
How many of us have been or nearly injured trying to turn the 500lb patient?
How many of us had to defend against assault from the schizophrenics, bipolar, alcoholics, and drug addicts?
While they don't have the same death tolls as COVID, we need to stop using "danger to others" as an excuse not to care. We care for people all the time that present with an illness or behavior dangerous to the rest of us due to their lifestyle choices.
side note: An unvaccinated person doesn't equal an infected person.

I agree with you people need to be open minded on the issue.
If you were in a COVID unit that mask and other PPE needed to stay on at all times while in the facility.
You may not have contracted COVID from anyone but could have easily transferred it to others after caring for a COVID patient.
It was common practice to don PPE before entering rooms of patients with infectious diseases and removing it at the door upon departure. COVID was treated differently. They let you take the masks off in between patients?

Do we need to explain how a contagious airborne virus at pandemic levels represents different threat to the general public than the things you listed? Which of those things are preventable by vaccine?
