Just curious? Do you talk about allnurses.com at work?

Maybe bring up the funny stories you read? Ask opinions of your colleague about interesting nursing topics you've read here? Maybe even print up articles and share them at work? (hint... hint ;) )

So many users say that they heard about allnurses from their co-worker, I'd like to know how many of you are actually doing it.

For those of you who do tell others about AN, we really appreciate it :bowingpur. Word of Mouth is the best (and cheapest) way to help us grow :tku:

Passed out 200 allnurses pens for Nurse Week 2007 thanks to da boss Brian---some even made their way to our Pittsburgh affiliate.

I've talked about it in the past but only to certain people. Not well received, people were not interested enough. Also agree with the others that say it is too easy to be identified, and that is not always a good thing. Doesn't stop me from looking for new things to learn here.

i wouldn't want my co-workers to read some of the things i've written about them! even when i try to disguise names/situations, i really wouldn't want hortense and prudence to read here about some of the little tiffs they've had! they might see right through my screen name.

absolutely...I don't talk about my posts, specifically, but about some topics addressed on this MB...more importantly I've used the most recent contest article winner to recruit non nursing folks I work with into nursing...IMHO it is such a touching story that if you have an inkling to get into nursing, the story gives perfect illustration of why nursing is such an incredible profession; one would read such a story and say to themselves...I wanna touch someone's life like that. Only in nursing. :D

(I'm referring to the In Bed with a dying patient, article)

Only in a very small number of cases to people I really trusted. Some of the companies I have worked for are really nasty and would most certainly hold anything I said here against me. But they don't know it is me do they.

Yes!I try to be hush about my name.I sure wouldnt want anyone"DEPT HOJOS"to know who I am,sometime.Honestly,this is a great way to get things off your chest.Its safer for me to do this,than to open my mouth every time I get pi--ed off,which is often!:oornt::igtsyt::igtsyt:

I only tell some people. I sure wouldn't want my boss reading some of the things I've posted here. e.g. Lets get the Florida staffing ratios law passed

i was lucky enough to meet one of your members and after some discussion she told me about your website. i am thankful that she did. endgame is a great nurse and i only wish i had met her before i accepted this job. i would have pushed harder and waited to get into the neuro icu internship program, if she would have been my preceptor. god bless the veteran nurses that have given so much to the craft. i am thankful every time my path crosses one of theirs.

I met a wonder and great friend of mine thru this site on a local thread but.......

As much as I would like to tell people (sorry Brian) I'm worried that people will figure out it's me, my screen name isn't that hard to see thru......:D and I've posted just enough info that, with combined with my screen name, someone could very easily figure out its me and then I wouldn't have my safe haven anymore.

So...it's my secret I post except to my friend who hears about my complaints long before I post here.
