Just curious? Do you talk about allnurses.com at work?
Maybe bring up the funny stories you read? Ask opinions of your colleague about interesting nursing topics you've read here? Maybe even print up articles and share them at work? (hint... hint )
So many users say that they heard about allnurses from their co-worker, I'd like to know how many of you are actually doing it.
For those of you who do tell others about AN, we really appreciate it :bowingpur. Word of Mouth is the best (and cheapest) way to help us grow :tku:

I put sometimes. I quite often talk to my colleagues about the subject matter. Sometimes I use at as a teaching tool because it is a good example of social learning and knowledge sharing. I also used it in one of my assignments for a Master of Education which was for the subject of Elearning, Theories and Practice. It is a site that is easy to navigate and has something for everyone involved in the care of patients either directly or indirectly. The area for improvement that I can see is that it needs to be a little more global but that could be a reflection on the culture of its origins.
I do talk about it all the time but do not know if people at my current facility have checked it out. I have noticed that now I have been fortunate to have had an article selected that is highlighted, that they are starting to express interest in going in and reading the articles, and by being there, checking out all the specialty forums. I didn't realize that all the talking I did with the nurses in my previous place of work encouraged at least a couple of them to join, so I try to do my part in advocating AllNurses! Martha
Sorry, Brian but I cannot help you get the word out...I guess I am selfish !!! No, really, I think of this site as my own private space to vent, give my honest opinion, and get some really good advice !!!
I post so much that someone from where I work would definately pick up on me and identify me !!! I work in a small hospital and the gossip runs like water.....it never stops...I try to stear clear of it.....
So I am sorry, but do not ever mention this site.....
Yes, I talk about this site a lot and have signed in at work and shown people. I know I have gotten a few people interested. However, not everyone is as intrigued or drawn into this medium, I have found, as those of us who visit daily or many times a day....
I will continue to be a huge advocate for this site. I have learned so much from others and have been sooo incredibly empowered here. Love, love, love this site!!!
I've had coworkers mention it to me. And then when I asked their AN identity, they shied from answering and we both agreed to remain anonymous. As many on this thread have already stated, there comes a great relief as well as emancipation to being able to vent, share, discuss...etc...without fear of reprisals or recrimination.
So although I use a pseudonym for myself and my safety and security, I still share the identity of the site.

No, I don't talk about allnurses.com at work. 98% of the time I don't even talk with my partner right next to me about anything personal because it is so darn busy.
