Im a nursing student and I just realized that I hate doctors! Theyre total douche bags! I was at a clinical and it was lunch time so I sat down at my table. Then this doctor asked if he could sit down because I had two empty seats. So i said sure go ahead. Then two other doctors show up and he tells me that he needs my seat because he has another friend coming. Who the hell does he think he is? is it because Im a nursing student and he thinks hes a doctor hes better than me? I really hate doctors and Im rethinking my career choice because I dont want to work near these evil cruel people. Are the doctors you work with terrible too?
Ok, here's the deal. Every RN at some point in their careers will encounter someone who makes them questions what they are doing with their life. For me, it was my preceptor in nursing school who made me feel like an idiot for not being as quick and skilled as she was. I seriously questioned going on in nursing when I graduated. But then I realized that everything happens for a reason. If I had never had such a bad experience with her, I would never realize how to deal with other ****** nurses and I would not be as compassionate as I am when I am training someone new.
That doctor who asked you to move was probably not even thinking about you at the time just that he or she wanted to sit by their friend. Try not to take it personally - it would have happened to any nurse, nursing student, whoever was sitting there.
OP--lighten up. Sounds like you see every request as an insult? The doc was just asking for your chair--and my guess is he was wanting to push a few buttons. They can be your best colleagues or your worst enemies---and you get to decide to some extent which one it will be. I wish you well in your education.
If you're not a troll then like someone said you seem immature for your age.
In one previous post you hate nursing, you hate the medical field and are only in NS because your Mother said you can make a lot of money. Now you say you dislike doctors and want to give up nursing school because of two bad experiences? If you are for real than your posts don't sound like you are on the right career path for you. Why do what you hate?

So sad that you are not even a nurse yet and are already complaining. Your post reeks of insecurity and immaturity. Try not to start off your career with such a rotten outluck. Your fellow nurses and doctors won't cotton to it at all. Ya got a lot to learn, kiddo. Then again, this poster could be a troll.
When we go to clinicals our teachers always tell us that when we are in there break room we are not to sit down if they are in there and are in need of a chair. It's there break room, not ours. If a nurse needs to sit down, you give them the chair. I'm sure it's the same with Doctors. You are visiting there place of employment, You should get up of common courtesy. JMO
OP, there will ALWAYS be rude people. I worked in customer service all my life and I've been yelled at, screamed at, called names, but did it bother me? NOPE! Just deal with it, Ok so he may have been rude to ask for your other seat but were you still eating lunch when he asked? And when he asked for other seat what did you say? Learn to stand-up and speak up ...tell him, HELL NO!
I don't hate anyone. Hate, to me, is a very strong word.Seriously, its not worth the energy.
I was thinking that same thing when I read the post. Hate is a VERY strong word. Someone has to do an awful lot worse than try to take my chair in the lunchroom to make me *hate* them.
There are jerks in ALL walks of life. Toughen up! Docs are people, nurses are people. There will be nice ones, mean ones, etc, in every group.
You are judging every single doctor based on these few minor experiences? How would you feel if I generalized nursing students by saying, "all nursing students are ditzy morons" based on one or two I've met in the dozens and dozens of clinical groups I've worked with over the years?
I wasn't overly fond of doctors till I started working with them when I graduated. I have come to see that most of them are very caring, nice people.
I love 99 % of the docs I work with and they seem to like/respect me. Now if only I could get along as well with some of the mean, nasty spirited nurses out there I would be in great shape.
a lot of nurses i know marry doctors, that shouldn't be a shocker to you since we work in the same field. i didn't read every post but i hope you didn't give up your seat for him, i've met my share of physicians with attitudes but majority of them are caring and can be funny once you get to know them. do not rethink your career choice of nursing is what you want to do, but as a nurse you need to have a strong backbone.
