It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our most beloved members, Daytonite.
Daytonite was instrumental in working with the nursing students here at allnurses.com. She was always there for them as well as the seasoned nurse. Her love, however, was teaching those in a nursing program by leading and guiding them here at allnurses.com.
Daytonite had been ill for a while; more seriously in the past 8 months. She passed away on April 8th, 2010.
Our sincere sympathy to the family of Daytonite. If anyone would like to place a condolence, here is the online obituary: JOYCE WAGNER Obituary: View JOYCE WAGNER's Obituary by The Plain Dealer. We think her family would be very touched reading the comments from our allnurses family.
We join you in mourning our friend...
Our fellow colleague...
A nurse above all...
A true advocate for the patient...
A teacher who gave of her heart for all who aspired to be a nurse.
Goodbye, Daytonite. You will be truly missed.
With Love,
All the allnurses.com staff
I cannot stop crying:crying2: Daytonite was one of my guiding angels while I was in nursing school. I used her format of clinical pathway to understand the disease process. I have been on this site for over ten years now and it hit me really, really hard. I used Daytonite words as gospel in nursing. She was one of the most dedicated, respected, smart, and professional human being ever. May her soul rest in peace. I will treasure the memories of daytonite because she was like pearl found in a deep rugged terrain.:crying2:

It is very sad to hear. I did not always agree with her, but she was one bright and tough nurse. It was generous of her to take her time and share her expertise with so many. She will be welcomed in heaven and very missed on Earth. She is probably getting a pat on the back from the likes of Florence Nightingale, Dorothea Orem, and Clara Barton.
Joyce was what I'd call a 'nurse's nurse'. She was kind and compassionate, but also had a tough streak that wouldn't allow anyone---whether student OR experienced nurse---to get away with saying "I can't" or making weak excuses for failing to do the necessary work of learning.
While I rejoice that her struggles and her pain are at an end, I'm saddened by her passing. She will be missed here at allnurses. I pray her family will find comfort in the many posts from our members in her online guestbook.
Sleep now, dear friend, and take your rest. Lay your tired brow upon the Master's breast. As He would say, "Well done, good and faithful servant".

My thoughts and feelings are with her family and friends.
What a magnificent person!! She was always willing to help. As a new nursing student, I needed it often, and even while sick she would reply to my PMs.
She will be missed!!! :flwrhrts:
