Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

One of my kinder teachers has sent a mass email to all of the parents in her class because we are having flu hit their group again and she wanted to let her parents know. She even made sure to include the word "epidemic" and stressed that if their kiddo is sick, or if I call, to make sure they're seen by a pediatrician because we have some serious illnesses on our campus.

So, if you're looking for me, I'll be answering phone calls and emails for the rest of my life now and trying to explain why it wasn't ME who sent out an email since we have such a giant concern regarding illnesses on our campus...

I would forward all calls to her, in the classroom, while she's teaching. I mean she is obviously more qualified to deal with this than you are. ?

Just got one of those "why did you not call?"

Ankle, completely WNL. Iced, elevated x 20 - told to come back if pain for any worsening symptoms. Never saw again.

Mom: It was really swollen when he got home.

Me: I would have called if he came back the 2nd time but he did not.

Mom: Well, he has a really bad sprain.

Me: Oh, he must be on crutches then?

Mom: No, just wrapped in an ace bandage.

Me: Ok, thanks for the info.

C'MON NOW!!! Really bad sprain???? No crutches???

And an ace? Do doctors offices/hospitals do aces anymore or have they switched to the aircast? Good possibility she didn't even take the little darling to the doctor.

I just checked on him. When I opened the classroom door, he jumped right up and came out in the hallway with not even a slight limp. Wearing a flimsy ankle brace. Said that he turned in a note to PE teacher from urgent care excusing him x 1 week. I will ask the coach for a copy. A really bad sprain???? Do these people think we were born yesterday????

Parents direct diagnosing these days, especially at urgent cares. Really can't trust anything anymore. Media, research, diagnosing, gas station sushi, what are we coming to?

Just had a student come in and tell me she lost the back of her earring and her teacher sent her up because she thought I would have some. I mean really?!

Send the kid back to class with a note that says "Not a medical issue"

Why would you think it is a good idea to send a group text about a family member's passing and include a 7th grader with an I-watch who as at school???

I know it is a bad time and emotions are high but really??? Then the counselors aren't here and I have to deal with it during medication time. I feel so bad for this kid. She finds out on her watch and she wants her family.

She called dad since it was mom's parent that passed and he was just annoyed to deal with it.

WOW...emotions are high, yes, but I think most people know to notify people that someone has died by CALLING THEM not texting. I can't imagine my mom sending a text "grandpa's dead ?." Poor kid.

I mean if you did not want to deal with the poor kid or pick her up from school, why not just wait until after school to tell her in person????

Now, this same mom will run up to the school to bring the girl make-up wipes for runny mascara. Go figure!!!
