I was on my feet shift the whole 8 hours today. It was busy, busy , busy. My shoulders ache, my feet ache, and I'm tired. However, I can't wait to get up in the AM and do it all over again. I love being a nurse. Each day is full of new adventures. I laugh, I cry, and sometimes even complain but I honestly can't imagine doing anything else. I thank God for my career and how He helps me to minister to my patients.
Tonight I shall take a nice to shower, read some stories from "chicken soup for the nurses' soul" and wake up @ 5am to do it all over again.

You sound like me!!! (well except im not a fully fledged nurse just yet, studyin for my BSN) Clinicals would come around and I just LOVED it!! Like you I laughed and cried and my feet got so sore. My body was adjustin to duin 13 hour shifts as I was a newbie to it all. However I couldnt wait to spend more time in the hospital and to learn more and meet more amazing new people and spend time caring for the patients. Its so rewarding!! My nursing friends would laugh and tell me I'm crazy (even though deep down I know they love it too!) Nursing is the best :) :) I just hope I'll always be this enthusiastic and enjoy it as much when I'm a bit older :) Can't wait until after the summer holidays and I get back to nursing school and clinicals :) :)

I'm officially one year into being a nurse and I love it even more. The bad days make the good ones even better. In a sick way, I even love the bad days. I love getting through the seemingly impossible workload. Tonight is my last night on Med Surg before I move over to the ICU. And I never thought I'd say this, but I have grown to love Med Surg and I think I'll miss it.
Anyways, I love seeing the positive post about our crazy and unique career.
Keep them coming.
I have two years experience. Graduate from ADN in December and plan to go for BSN. I also can't wait for August to come so I can finish up my last semester to become a RN. I love being a LPN and nurse period but I can't wait to get into my dream specialty.
Maybe I'm just in the honeymoon phase but I honestly enjoy being a nurse. Sometimes nursing is hard, stressful, and down right exhausting but I love it !

I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow, also. Mondays and Wednesdays I'm in the office all day mostly doing chart audits (it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it). Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday I'm "in the field" seeing my dementia pts. A couple of them smile when they see me, but most of them don't even know I'm there. But that's o.k. I know I'm giving them the loving care they deserve. So glad to hear of others who enjoy their job!

I'm with you. Sometimes the crazy days and my co workers drive me nuts, but I enjoy going to work at this facility. Couldn't say that at my previous job.

Love this thread! Very positive! I have work tomorrow and though I hate having to drive so far away, I do love my job, too.

Sometimes I love to go to work too! When I am not feeling overworked or spread too thin and can really spend adequate time with my pts it makes me so happy. I really love nursing too, but when I'm having to dart in and out of rooms practically throw people their pills that it becomes a chore. Census is low and I love it because I can spend more time on each patient.
