When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)

Any old new grads out there? How long have you been looking for a job?
Several from my graduating class last year just got new grad jobs so there is hope if you have been waiting for a job for a year! :) I'm so happy for them. They are ADN nurses too, not BSN.

did anyone get hired at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield? i got a spot in their nicu starting in july. moving there from SF and i don't know anyone down there.
anyone hear back from Placentia-Linda Versant Program?
oh wow! are they still considering people? I remember calling them about 2 weeks ago and the lady told me they were in the process of reviewing applications and calling people for interviews. Also, if i remember right there is only about 3 positions open. You might want to call them for updates. I think after my conversation with HR I am okay with letting this one go...
I spoke with someone at Torrance Memorial the other day- they're not positive, but it looks like the next Versant cohort will begin in Sept/Oct with applications beginning in July. They expect 2,500+ applicants (based on previous cohorts) for 20 spots. YIKES!
Has anyone heard anything from Mission Hospital's new grad program?
I applied there! No word from them...I don't live local so I doubt I'll get a call. Maybe you should ask HR and find out what their hiring process is like?
