  2. i'm an nicu nurse expected to orient to PP/LnD with limitations. the law is not on my side when it comes to those units
  3. EVERYTHING is expensive at SMU. i bought most of my textbooks through borders and barnes & noble with coupons, so in that respect the textbooks were somewhat inexpensive compared to the bookstore. bookstore usually sells bundles for the cohorts, which run anywhere from $300-500 lab fees are built into your tuition, which is VERY expensive
  4. don't think ----- was teaching when i was there. i graduated in dec2010 from the BSN program and thought that it was quite a challenge at times and really fun at other times. i didn't work during the program and don't have a family or kids, so my experience was easy compared to others
  5. i didn't have ------ but my classmates loved her for pharm and we had her speak at our pinning. seems like a great teacher
  6. being a guy doesn't hurt you unless you are trying to get into L&D
  7. do it man. i left biotech to pursue nursing and i've loved my decision. i'm one of two guys in the nicu and everyone i work with loves that i'm there. and just call us nurses.
  8. i just got hired as a new grad rn (bsn) in bakersfield and will be making $28/hr. far cry from the $49/hr i could make if i were hired up here in the bay area
  9. did anyone get hired at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield? i got a spot in their nicu starting in july. moving there from SF and i don't know anyone down there.
  10. i had an interview with SJCH yesterday for NICU. got called two weeks ago
  11. i am a California applicant. my status reads "Our recruitment team is currently processing your application and you are being actively considered along with other candidates for the position. We will be in contact with you shortly should we wish to interview you"
  12. BSN, another BS in biotech, acls cert, licensed = rejection
  13. i was told yesterday at the open house that the official start date is july 18 for ukiah. 8 of the 16 hired will actually start on june 13 though due to the COPE (?) thing. it was in the PP that they showed us
  14. just got the call from SJCH for an interview in two weeks. the recruiter was nice enough to leave a message
